Had it with ALC887

So I've pretty much had it with my on-board ALC887 with 10.6.3 ... It worked with 10.6.2 but dies with with the upgrade. I've tried everything. The rollback, VoodooHDA, and all of the ALC drivers. Nothing works. The Voodoo will work with the digital out with the HDMI on my Nvidia card but that is it, not the onboard of my Dell Inspiron i580. Voodoo picks up the ALC889 but no jack outputs. I'm in the middle of doing the combo update for 10.6.4. Does anyone know of a way to rollback to 10.6.2 or can someone recommend a sound card that will work with VoodooHDA or HDAEnabler?

Try roll-back again (to 10.6.2 AppleHDA), and install of LegacyHDA_887 and HDAEnabler_887 (or whatever combination of kexts you used to get it working on 10.6.2 initially) using latest Multibeast 2.0.4 EDIT 2.0.5 now released!

Earlier versions had problems, perhaps that is why your ALC887 audio did not work after upgrading to 10.6.3
