Hello everyone,
I want to build a fluent operating workstation. I want to keep MAC OS, but I do not want to buy a MAC.
I have based my build on the CustoMac mATX: https://www.tonymacx86.com/buyersgu...tosh-the-ultimate-buyers-guide/#CustoMac_mATX
However I have multiple questions and I would be really glad to have some answers.
Software/Hardware running on this Hackintosh will be:
Goliath HD 3rd gen (it has digilink and TB2 as well as USB 3.0)
Pro Tools Ultimate with HDX Card
Ableton Live suite 10
DaVinci Resolve (last version)
Sonarworks (last version)
My approximate build:
There is a screenshot of my actual basket linked to this thread.
Motherboard
TUF Z390M-PRO GAMING (WI-FI)
RAM
64GB of RAM does the version from the RAM may cause some troubleshootings?
CPU
Which CPU? Do I really need a intel I9 with 16 threads?
Core i9-9900K
3.6Ghz / 8 Cores / 16 Threads, Turbo / 16MB L3 Cache / 95W Max TDP
Core i7-9700K
3.6Ghz / 8 Cores / 8 Threads, Turbo / 12MB L3 Cache / 95W Max TDP
Core i7-9700
3.6Ghz / 8 Cores / 8 Threads, Turbo / 12MB L3 Cache / 65W Max TDP
GPU
Which GPU do you recommend me? I want something to edit and render quickly 4K footages. The GPU mus fit into the BitFenix Phenom M (cube)
Questions:
Will I have bluetooth and Wi-fi easily setup? I love Gigabyte however I have read that Asus MB were more "MAC friendly"
Will I be able to use airdrop?
Will I be able to use my Ipad as a Pro Tools controller using EuControl?
Which version of MAC OS is more stable? Mojave or Catalina? (I would love to have Catalina and be able to do this: https://uk.pcmag.com/news/122995/how-to-use-your-ipad-as-a-second-monitor-on-any-computer )
Will I have a free slot for the ProTools HDX PCIe card with the BitFenix Phenom M (cube) ?
Is it possible install an other PCIe with TB 2 and TB 3 ports?
