Hackintosh Reboots Randomly With Graphic Intensive Use

Assuming you are running the newer optional nvidia webdrivers? A or B?
Actually, for my GPU the NVIDIA Webdrivers are mandatory, not optional, as I have only series 1000 Nvidia cards. I'm in the latest High Sierra update with latest NVIDIA Webdrivers.

Here is the last crash report:

To make the error happen I opened PR, AE (both without anything loaded, just software opened), ran Heaven in background and fired 10 youtube tabs in Safari. I discarded RAM issues, as I tested both sticks with MEMTEST86 for 10 complete iterations and no errors were found.

For those who have a 100% stable system, what System Definition are you using with your coffee lake setups? I think that maybe it has something to do with my reboots... I tried using iMac 18,1 and iMac Pro 1,1 as system definitions.

Well. I updated all drivers and kexts. Now the issue seems to be worse! LOL. Now if I open Premiere and 10 more youtube tabs on safari the machine reboots. At least now it gives me the panic report and my theory is confirmed, it´s the NVIDIA webdriver that is causing the panics! Any more hints?
Some options: 1 - Wait until the Nvidia driver for Mojave comes out and update to Mojave and try this driver. 2 - You might be able to install the Mojave Nvidia driver on 10.13.6 by downloading it directly. 3 - Wait for a security update for 10.13.6 and see if Nvidia updates the driver for it. 4 - Revert back to a previous driver -- 378.10.10.10.25.106 has been popular -- using this method Install a specific driver version. 5 - If you haven't just completely uninstalled your current driver using the preference pane in System Preferences --after having already downloaded the driver you want to install to your desktop-- do that. Uninstalling the old driver always makes sense. Good luck! Currently waiting for Nvidia's Mojave driver...

You may be right. I believe the recommended SMBIOS for Coffee Lake is iMac18,2 or iMac18,3. iMac18,1 would be for the use of the iGPU only.

Hello! I have 3 machines that I use for video editing purposes and all 3 have the same issue. Two of them use GTX 1060 and MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 with latest web drivers and the newest one is a Coffee Lake box with a GTX 1070. Long things short, all of them are having random reboots issues. I can reproduce the issue when I open Adobe Premiere and After Effects at the same time with no projects loaded, just the softwares themselves and running Unigine Valley and some youtube tabs in safari. The issue only happens when PR and AE are open. If I leave them closed I can run Heaven and Valley at the same time and more than 30 youtube tabs and the system though starts struggling does not reboot. When I open a project in PR and start animating in AE, even if there's anything else running, when the projects get heavy load the system just reboots itself without any warnings and the system boots again and does not generate any error reports as if nothing happened. Anyone here experienced anything like that? If so, any ideas on how to get this fixed? I suspect NVIDIA Webdrivers are causing this issue. I ordered a Vega 56 card and will test to see if anything changes.

I can attest this with certain Adobe apps like Premiere.

My system freezes when for example:

1) Exporting to any codec such as H264 or ProRes
2) Having a YouTube video open in Chrome

It's very easy to crash the system.

On my end it just freezes and I have to do a hard reboot. This is with a Vega.

I will wait for Mojave web driver and try updating to see if there is any difference... Tried iMac 18,2 and 18,3 as well and same thing occurs... Tried downgrading the driver too and same results...

For me Vega with iMac Pro 1,1 system definition was the solution for my problem, at least temporarily until my Vega decided to die 1 week after I purchased it!

1,1 is where I have the problem.

This is actually a known issue with real Macs.

Just one more shot across the bow...check out this guide in case you haven't seen it. It's pretty detailed about graphics, and though much of it is about iGPU, something might be useful. Also getting jaymonkey on your case might help.

Also this post #255 from Spartan711:
"Here's a couple great resources pertaining to my build configuration:
- BoomR's “Power UP” for 360/VR Production Build
- Dual GPU from @njcoons
- [Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz
- SSDT and Config.plist from @jb007
For Dual GPU you can use Lilu+Whatevergreen. Shiki and IntelGraphicsFixup are no longer needed (they were all integrated with Whatevergreen). I did not need the boot flags."

That SSDT and config.plist match your Z370 motherboard, I believe, and that can be very useful...
