Hi,
After upgrading from OS 10.9.5 Mavericks to Yosemite, my system has been randomly freezing for a prolonged period of time.
My system specifications:
Motherboard: ASRock H87M Pro4
CPU: Intel Haswell i7 4770 3.4GHz
Graphics: Nvidia GT 610 1GB
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1333Mhz
In OS 10.9.5 Mavericks, I had no freezing issues whatsoever but some graphics issues with the onboard GPU which is why I got the Nvidia GT 610 as a replacement which fixed all my graphics issues.
The random freezing seems to occur when doing something system intensive like trying to open 3 applications at once or playing a video whilst rendering a video. I have come to the conclusion that this error might be caused by VRAM or RAM assignment and have tried altering both but no changes.
The random freezes can happen straight after booting into OS 10.10 Yosemite or 30 minutes after or even 2 hours after. It's hard to predict when it is going to happen so that I can save all my work. I have had to forcefully shut down the system in order to get OS 10.10 Yosemite to reboot.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Jamie
