  • I liked your detailed post that should be very helpful to many new into Hackintoshing and also those who have chosen the same or very similar Intel 200 Series MoBo and Nvidia 1060Graphics.
    • Did you notice you have forgotten to include the Intel CPU used in the build in your SPECS!
    • Adding all major hardware to your Build Signature would make it even better.
  • I have however a couple of questions to clarify:
  • In your USB Installer creation using Unibeast 8.1.0, you have not mentioned which "Boot Mode" (Legacy vs UEFI) you have selected for the macOS High Sierra USB installer disk.
    • For most but not all, for the intel 200 series MoBo /CPU combination , UEFI Boot mode should be the obvious choice. For a detailed write up like this , I consider clarifying that is important to make it a complete manual.
    • Did you have any problem during boot during the initial Installation step using your USB Installer with Nvidia Graphics 1060 as the PCIE Graphics and Internal Graphics: Auto in the BIOS? In most cases I had and the ones I have seen on this Forum , it causes a Graphics related boot failure requiring Physically removing the add on PCIE card and performing initial installation using the onboard Intel HD Graphics supported by the CPU ( since your CPU is not in the SPECS cannot comment on the exact Intel HD IGFX in the setup) and installing the PCIE card as second step after establishing a fully functional system using Integrated Intel HD Graphics.
    • In the BIOS, the choice of "Storage Boot option Control: Legacy " seems to me at odds with a UEFI booting
    • For Nvidia GTX 1060 , after installing Webdriver corresponding to the macOS High Sierra Version, and installing latest Lilu.kext and Nvidia GraphicsFixup.kext to /S/L/E using a tool like Kext Wizard and pasting the two of them into /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other , editing config.plist >Boot Args to uncheck (remove the [√]) from [√]nvda_drv=1 is the recommended step. Your suggestion is "Go to Boot select nvda_drv=1"
  • In a write up of this size, I know a few errors can occur . I hope my comments are meant to help and not a harsh criticism.

Hi cmn699,

Thank you for your feedback, I am appreciated with your help, i will changed those settings which you have informed. And try again.

In a rush hour with 4 days in a row of trial and errors doing this hackintosh without any sleeps trying to solve issues which i need to iron out to make this build works.

I forgotten to include the CPU settings,

The CPU for this build is intel core i7 7700K.
Kaby Lake 7th Generation CPU.

The cpu cooler is cooler master hyper H410R.

The power supply is Cooler master v650.

The graphic card is Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6 GB.

The motherboard Gigabyte Z270X-UD5 Bios is still revision 1.0.

The bios settings that i do is Legacy. I will switch to UEFI and try again.

Yes, i set to auto. It work while install macos high sierra 10.13.2.

The most important part is the bios settings otherwise it will not install the macos.

There are issues, the nvidia drivers 104.
The graphic tend to be mess up. After the doing the nvram patching with clover.

I run into problems.

The general tip is ....

After installing macos high sierra 10.13.2 with multibeast and after doing the 10.13.2 supplement updates it will get stuck and will fail the installation completely.

So after so much trial and error, after the full macos 10.13.2 installation, what i do is to go to the apple app store and download the itunes and 10.13.2 supplement immediately with the unibeast bootloader still plugging in the computer.

Then it will install the 2 patches succesfully.

After that you install the nvidia drivers and cuda,

Then you install multibeast.

If you install the macos and multibeast first and download the software updates it will not successfully install the patches.

Then you have to fix the ALC1220 sound and driver issues.

I can't seems to get the hdmi sound issues to work at this time.

So you have to use an external speakers to plug in to the audio connector.

(Information Updated!) -FIXING STUCK ISSUES AFTER DOING APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATES!

To prevent from Mac OS updates getting stuck while updating the Mac OS High Sierra ....
Download FakeSMC.kext from tonymac and install FakeSMC kext to EFI,EFI,CLOVER,kext

To do that... all you need to do is to

Open Clover Configurator
Go to Mount EFI
Mount Partitioned
Open Partition
Go to EFI, EFI,CLOVER,kexts,10.13
Copy FakeSMC.kext to that folder.
Again Go to EFI,EFI,CLOVER,kexts,other
Copy FakeSMC.kext to that folder.
Go to Mount EFI
Unmount Partitioned.

Once you done that, Unmount Partitioned by going to MOUNT EFI from your Install MacOS Hard Disk.
Which indicate the Current Boot Disk.

Make sure you do this before doing any Apple Software Updates!

Since NVIDIA did not release a new driver for the latest MACOS.

You need to use Clover Configurator, and Inject Intel.

All you need to do is ...

Open Clover Configurator
Mount EFI
Go to Start Screen (The Home Button or Icon)
Go to EFI,EFI,Clover,Config.plist
Go to Graphic Inject Intel.
Save.
Go back to Mount EFI.
Unmount Partitioned.

I decide to go to the Bios settings again.
Go to Chipset Setting of the Bios.
Internal Graphics to Auto.

If you come across errors such as MacOs cannot be install due to osinstall.mpkg damage.
Reboot your computer, do a Disk Utility First Aid, Re update the MacOS from apple apps store again.
And reboot.... wait till it install the MacOS successfully. The System will reboot and install MacOS.

Always remember if you are using Nvidia Web Graphic Card and if there is a new MacOS updates version.
Nvidia did not have the latest release version for the new MacOS High Sierra version update.

For instance, you are currently running 10.13.2 and there is 10.13.3 updates.
Nvidia did not have the new version release for the 10.13.3 MacOS updates.
You have to wait till it release.

Make sure the EMUVariableUefi64.efi is still intact at EFI,CLOVER,Driver64UEFI.
Otherwise you need to reinstall it with Clover EFI installer.

Check for any hiccups for the audio...
Go to Finder,
Go to Apple Logo on the Top Left Corner
About this Mac,
Go to System Report,
Check to see the Audio Driver is detected and working.

You can always go to Youtube and watch video to see if the audio is working.

The motherboard Gigabyte Z270X-UD5 Bios is still revision 1.0.
The CPU for this build is intel core i7 7700K.
The graphic card is Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6 GB.
Please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard or Make/Model, CPU and Graphics Card.

Woohoo! Nvidia Drivers for the Macos High Sierra 10.13.3 is here.... 378.10.10.10.25.156.

Download link.
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/130460/en-us

But NVIDIA CUDA Need a new version to update to support MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3!
As Moderator BreBo pointed out , your Profile does not show any Hardware Specifications. That is one thing that is lacking in your otherwise good post. Please edit personal details and fill the appropriate blocks there, to comply with the Forum rules all who post here have to follow, especially those of us who post here to help others.

Okay got the CUDA Driver updated!

Fixing shutdown and reboot by itself issues.

Here is the Solution:-

Open up Clover Configurator.
Mount EFI. (Hard disk that install macos)
Mount Partitioned.
Click the Start Screen which is the Home button icon below (left bottom)
Select EFI,EFI,Clover,config.plist
Go to ACPI select or tick fixshutdown.
Then Save.

Next go to Mount EFI.
Make sure Mount Partioned is selected.
Then click Open Partitioned.
Go to EFI,EFI,Clover,config.plist
Now before you do this make sure you have download the plist editor.
Under config.plist right mouse button click select open plist editor.
Below look for a string FixShutdown.
Keep scrolling down until you found the FixShutdown.
What you do next is to edit and insert or just add in _0004 just next to FixShutdown.
So it should be FixShutdown_0004
Save the config.plist file
Next go back to mount EFI
Unmount portioned
And exit Clover configurator.

And test to see if the computer shutdown totally.

It should fix the shutdown issues.
Without rebooting after shutting down
the computer. Wait for it to fully shutdown the computer. Until you get No signal on your LED Monitor.

The problem have been fixed!
