Hackintosh Does Not Shutdown Completely?

^ Great! I look forward to trying that out!

Good to know there are other Mountain Lion users experiencing this issue.

I just started experiencing this for the first time with an install I did using a 4790K and Z87X-UD5 TH.

I wanted to get both the DVI and HDMI ports working with a dual-monitor setup, so I had to add a IGPlatformID=04160000 to theBoot.plist to do so, but now I find that I'm experiencing the issue when attempting to shut down the system...

Great to know there is a possible solution!

Damn, clearing the cmos didn't work.. still won't completely shutdown when 2 monitors are plugged in..:banghead:

I'm having this problem as well on Mavericks 10.9.5 with a Gigabyte Z77 UP5-TH. System would shut down and everything looks off, but fans are still spinning and such. Very frustrating. The problem is intermittent too. It'll do this once every five shutdowns or so.

I'm going to try installing EvOreboot and see if that helps, but if anyone has any other thoughts on what to try...? It looks like those in this thread have been trying to find the solution for a while as well.
