HackinDROM App testing (not website)

Thank you for helping me find that issue and fixing it for other users

Happy to help!

Am I ok running the last SV you posted, or should I download from the web?

This is probably a drive that contains Microsoft EFI partition, Linux, or something else

Hmmm...I've never used that drive to boot any other OS (and have never booted this machine in Windows - I don't even have a copy!). I played with Linux once, two years ago, for half a day, but that was booting from a USB thumb drive.

I use the unnamed drive only for backups of an internal data drive (won't ever boot from it). So it sounds like nothing to be concerned about.

Thanks!

As you can see you are not running SV 7 anymore because the app updated itself to v1.2.9 when I published it :)

That disk name info is additional, most of EFI mounter apps dont giving names at all because it is a little bit tricky to get it correctly and as you can see it is tricky!

v1.3.0 is online!
  • Added Eject button for external drives
  • "NO NAME" for partition without name
  • optimizations

Brilliant! Now that we have @bobmeister's issue solved, I can ruin your day by posting a new problem!
  • On my primary Z390 Designare system I have an external RAID enclosure connected via USB 3.0.
    • It has 4 drive bays with 4 identical drives.
    • The drives are configured as a RAID-5 volume.
    • RAID is managed by OWC's SoftRAID 6.x in Big Sur.
  • The 4 individual drives and the RAID volume appear in Disk Utility as follows:
Screen Shot 2021-04-15 at 9.50.24 AM.png

  • When RAID5-6TB is mounted, then HackinDROM App just shows the following and spins:
Screen Shot 2021-04-15 at 9.49.22 AM.png
  • When RAID5-6TB is unmounted, then HackinDROM App runs properly:
Screen Shot 2021-04-15 at 9.51.41 AM.png
  • Attached is the alldisks.plist file with RAID5-6TB volume mounted.

Have you encountered similar RAID-related issues with HackinDROM App?

Thanks for the file
Ive never owner RAID system
I think now the app will lunch for you, but Im not sure about the result, please give a try to v1.3.1

The plist files from diskutil are cool to have a look but it is not enough to load EFI list in the app because im using macOS internal APIs for that
If is still not good with this version let me know and then please send me the IOReg this could be more helpful

So wait, all we need is the RAID5-6TB drive to be appear in HackinDROM.app ? what about the others? because I saw EFI partitions almost in every disk to I show them :banghead:

Good! Now the 4 physical drives and the logical volume are showing...

Because RAID5-6TB is a "virtual" volume I believe we should ignore it:

The individual disks are type physical so they should be included:
/dev/disk9 (external, physical):

0: GUID_partition_scheme *2.0 TB disk9
1: EFI ⁨EFI⁩ 209.7 MB disk9s1

But RAID5-6TB is type virtual, so I believe we should ignore it:

/dev/disk13 (virtual):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: Apple_HFS RAID5-6TB +6.0 TB disk13

could you please send me IOReg with this RAID mounted
