Hello,
Sorry for my english, excuse me. (i am new in english AND in hackintosh, as youwill see ...)
I can install Snow Leopard OSX10.6.8 (I want to keep this version).
I used iBoot3.1.0 and Mutltibeast 3.10.1 Snow leopard., for the installation. The installation to 10.6.8 is possible with NullCPUPowerManagement.
I can boot on the hard disk
I have ethernet OK
BUT the screen is bad : full of all kind of pixels (see picture attached). If I move a window it get worse !!!.
If I use -x, (without extension?) then the screen is nice.
Why is it so ? What does that mean ? Where can I go from there ?
Please could you help me ?
Thanks
Dominique

See if this link helps you...
http://www.tonymacx86.com/snow-leop...75-10-6-4-5770-x32-want-x64-snow-leopard.html

the poster "scatman' states that he uses the latest Chameleon ... not sure what version he used...
the one in the MultiBeast version for Snow Leo should work....
Also he say he uses the Snow Leo update 10.6.4 - not sure which version was your base version that OSX was installed from - either 10.6.0 or 10.6.3 - so you may want to try that version first...
see if GFX is ok...

Also he states that he used the Snow Leopard Graphics update version 1.0
from here...
http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1083
read about it here
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4286

But he does speak of the injectors not sure what he means by that.. and your GFX ID...

If this works then you may want to see if you can upgrade to Combo Update 10.6.7 first and see if it Works....As users have told us that 10.6.8 can cause problems ..w video
Sometimes Apples Updates break Graphics and you need to copy back the ATI files of kexts...

you may want to look at this link for some ideas on how to insert your device id..
http://www.computersnyou.com/213/2012/05/how-to-insert-device-id-in-kext-hackintosh-tutorial/

HD5770 did not get support in SL until 10.6.7. Use -x to boot with so the gfx card will work in VESA mode (no QE/CI) until you can update. Update to 10.6.7 and use GE=Yes option in MultiBeast.
For that board, after updating to 10.6.7, use Update Helper from forum downloads and reboot before updating to 10.6.8.

Thanks a lotboth Totenkopf4 and Going bald…. for your very fast answers.
At first Ilooked at the links given by totenkopf4. Got somme ideas , lookslike it is OK until OSX 10.6.4 or 10.6.7 and problems begin with 10.6.8(as Going bald wrote).
I also triedfrom computersnyou to insert Device ID in Kext. The bad pixels on thescreen disappeared, it was clean, but I had only the 1024x768resolution. (the others I had before with the 'bad pixels' were until1920x1080)
I will now trythe steps of Going bald who is very clear . But I must start again a complete fresh installation.
I will tellyou the results. I have to work and try to undestand more...
Thanks again.

for answer to 2, Sandy Bridge boards are not truly supported until 10.6.8 (see http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/07/get-ready-for-os-x-lion-update-to-1068.html )

For Sandy Bridge boards install 10.6.0 (You have original 10.6.0 disc with white cover and pic of Snow Leopard, yes?) and run MultiBeast. Suggest you use one of the 3.0.x versions (download from http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=6 ). Make sure you have correct DSDT on desktop and select UserDSDT in MultiBeast.
Your gfx card still has no support at this point, so you need to boot with -x to get past gfx issue. If you find it still won't boot from HD but will from iBoot, download and run update Helper and try reboot without iBoot again. If still not booting from HDD, download and run 10.6.8 update (combo).
You could also update to 10.6.7 before running Update Helper, as 10.6.7 has support for your gfx card. See http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/03/native-graphics-acceleration-for-radeon.html

foranswer to 2, Sandy Bridge boards are not truly supported until 10.6.8(see http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/...e-to-1068.html)

1) Yes I know that , this is because we should run Update helper before updating to 10.6.8

ForSandy Bridge boards install 10.6.0 (You have original 10.6.0 discwith white cover and pic of Snow Leopard, yes?)
2)Yes I have the White cover Snow leopard DVD with the pic.

andrun MultiBeast. Suggest you use one of the 3.0.x versions (downloadfrom http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=6).
3) Whydoyou suggest the 3.0.x version of multibeast instead of the lastone3.3.0 for snow leopard ?.

Makesure you have correct DSDT on desktop and select UserDSDT inMultiBeast.
4) The motherboard i bought was version F1. I did not have dsdt for F1, so I flash to F8, the one there is a dsdt (called h7maud23.f8).Yes it is on desktop and I use UserDsdt . By the way only that, no other thing (except when I tried Null...)

Yourgfx card still has no support at this point, so you need to boot with-x to get past gfx issue. If you find it still won't boot from HD butwill from iBoot, download and run update Helper and try rebootwithout iBoot again. If still not booting from HDD, download and run10.6.8 update (combo).
5) I will try these steps in this order.

Youcould also update to 10.6.7 before running Update Helper, as 10.6.7has support for your gfx card.Seehttp://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/...or-radeon.html
6) Reading again more carefully this link, I realized that there are 2 update. In fact I don't have the one for for MacBook Pro Early 2011which has support for sandy bridge and for some Radeon HD 5xxx and 6xxx cards. I think I should have used this one. But I cannot get it on the apple store anymore !!!. So I guess I have to go directly from 10.6 to 10.6.8 (with the steps you menionned). Correct ?

7)Would you say I must change some hardware which will work !!!. The problem is that for snow Leopard, almost all hardware suggestions are almost impossible to find. Anyway have you some hardware ideas I could still find for snowleopard 10.6.8?.

Thanksfor your patience !!!

1. OK

2.

3. 3.0.x is any of the 3.0 versions of MB for SL. Try the earliest one first, if that does not work, try the next one. MultiBeast is not the same version to version as Macman adds support for more in each version. Not sure which would be the best for you to use, but the latest versions all have support added for Haswell, which won't do you any good. Versions created while Sandy Bridge Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Lion 10.7.0 were latest OS X are best to use for your board.

4. OK, this should get you everything but audio and networking going without iBoot.

5. You might also run http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1512 after you run Update Helper before install the 10.6.8 update (combo)

6. I would update to 10.6.7 before Update Helper if only because most were running 10.6.7 before the update combo came out for 10.6.8. The update is still available - why did you not use the link to the update in the post I linked? - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1368

7. Unless you can find one of the cards in the database - http://www.tonymacx86.com/wiki/index.php/Graphics_Card_Database - that are listed as OOB for Snow Leoard for little to nothing, no sense in wasting $$ when you have a card supported in 10.6.8. At least, I hope it has the correct device ID. Do you have any idea what the device ID is for your card?
