[Guide] Thinkpad X1 Yoga (3rd Gen) 20LD with Mojave

Try using the
"invalid ig-platform-id (0x12345678)" worked for me to install (leads to some graphic glitches and 14MB framebuffer but can be fixed afterwards) - found in original guide. Did you read through that? Is your bios up to date? You can't just copy the patched folder - you have to dump you own and apply the patches afterwards

I have the 970 evo 1TB

Edit: what do I need to remove from the config.plist? My serial number or?

I have managed to boot into Mojave by changing the platform_id and using clover v2-4 instead of the one recommended in the post thanks to you :). I'm now trying to add wifi but my BCM94352Z DW1560 WLAN card is not detected by windows, linux or mac with the correct kext. I think it is broken, I'm going to order a replacement.

@Octopus333,

Try taping over pins 54 and 56 ... it might help with the issue of the WiFi/BT card not being detected. I had to do this with a DW1830 card in order for my HP Spectre X360 to detect it which i wrote about in this post :-

There is a link in that post to the source of the info :-

You need to use thin tape ... i used green heat resistant tape but sellotape will do, just cut a very thin slither and mask pins 54 & 56 .... then carefully re-seat the card in the slot making sure the tape stays in place.

Cheers
Jay

Hi jaymonkey, thank you for the help.
I have used some masking tape on pin 54 and 56 as you said.

Sadly, it was still not detected by either linux (I used the lspci -vnn command) or on mac.
Here is a close up shot of the card.

@Octopus333,

Well it was worth a try ...

That hack has worked for me on more than one system, and i've recommended it to others on this forum and it worked for them too ... Maybe the card is faulty like you first suggested ....

Cheers

SSDT-USBX SSDT-UIAC SSDT-JHL6540

Did try it out -
So plugged in at boot recognizing the RX580 as PCIe, short flicker of eGPU next to wifi icon saying "no device".

Shut down and booting without plugged in eGPU. Plugged it in - appears in PCI, again 2-3seconds icon in the taskbar.

Both times no drivers loeaded.
Edit 2: No drivers loaded in TB3 tab and in PCI list for RX580
When unplugging the dialog appers that says you have to savely remove an eGPU.

I have a supported card and enclosure:
Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Box 550 W4 ref. https://support.apple.com/de-at/HT208544

It's the same problem as described for the T480s:

Found a script to enable "unsupported" TB3 devices (TB1, TB2 eGPUs) <= may look into that
Edit: link https://egpu.io/forums/mac-setup/script-enable-egpu-on-tb1-2-macs-on-macos-10-13-4/

Thanks anyways! Can I help any other way?

Hi , thank you for your testing.
Can you set your bios settings like this

Also , @blackandcold , can you help me check whether you can open hidpi under resolution 1920*1080 ? Thanks.

Due to some unknown reason , after I upgrade the system(from 10.14.4 to 10.14.6), the highest hidpi under my laptop screen(2K) is limited to 1440*810 , however the external monitor don't have this limit...

Will try it on my Yoga 370, hopefully there is not much changes needed.

hi Guys,
i would like this clover folder on my yoga 260 with Catalina 15.1
Did you test it with Catalina?
