This is the guide for installing macOS 10.14.x or 10.15.x on ROG STRIX Z390-I GAMING mini-ITX motherboard
I have only tested it with RX Vega 56 and RX Vega 64 (oob supported GPUs)
This guide currently only works with discrete GPU
I will soon edit this guide to work with onboard GPU too
Opencore Support added ! Try it and report back!

Install Mac OS Mojave or Catalina

1.Create your Bootable Drive with UniBeast or create install media method.
Use this guide to create your bootable drive:
Select your drive and Mac OS Mojave and leave everything else empty : follow this guide :

2.After you have created your bootable drive, download one of the attached EFI-Folder (Mojave or Catalina )
3.Delete the whole EFI folder of the EFI Partition from the stick you have made and copy the downloaded Folder instead of it.
4.Change your Bios Settings like described below.

  • In the main screen set X.M.P. = Enabled
  • Advanced Items - CPU Configuration - Intel (VMX) Virtualization Technology = Enable
  • Advanced Items - System Agent Graphics Configuration- Primary Display = Auto
  • Advanced Items - System Agent Graphics Configuration - IGPU Multi-Monitor - Enabled for Discrete GPU and Disabled for Onboard GPU
  • Save and restart activates RC6 and DVMT settings
  • Advanced Items - System Agent Graphics Configuration - RC6 Render Standby = Off
  • Advanced Items - System Agent Configuration - Above 4G Decoding = Enable
  • Advanced Items - System Agent Graphics Configuration - DVMT Pre-Allocated = 128
  • Advanced Items - USB Configuration -Legacy USB Support = Disabled
  • Advanced Items - USB Configuration- XHCI Hand Off = Enabled
  • Boot Menu=Select your Mac OS install Drive first
  • Exit and Save the changes

5.Boot Clover and install Mac OS Mojave.

Post-Installation Mac OS Mojave / Catalina
Install a program of your choice to mount your EFI-Partition ( Clover configurator or EFI-mounter etc.)

1.Copy one of the attached EFI folder to the EFI partition on your Mac OS -system drive

For Mojave select "EFI DGPU Mojave.zip"
For Catalina select "EFI DGPU Catalina.zip"

If you plan to use Final Cut Pro X or iMovie and if you have a discrete graphics card installed (e.g. RX580, Vega, Pro WX) then the configuration presented in this guide will cause FCPX and iMovie to crash on startup.
This config will place the iGPU in headless mode
This will place the iGPU in headless mode, where the internal GPU (iGPU) is still enabled for compute tasks, but will not display a video signal. Therefore a discrete graphics card (PCIe GPU) is necessary for connecting your monitor

Important for RX580 User when using Headless Mode
Use Clover Configurator 5.3.2.0 or later to make this change to your config.plist:
Graphics: FB Name = Orinoco

For Catalina Headless Mode select "EFI DGPU Catalina Headlessmode.zip"

If you want to use FileVault 2 on Catalina, use "FV EFI DGPU Catalina.zip"

It has updated UEFI Drivers
It also uses Headless Mode, so that you can use FCP as described above.

Opencore Support is out, try it and report back
Download [OC] DGPU Catalina Efi folder (Backup your Clover folder before )

2.Change your SMBIOS : Use Clover Configurator to change your Platform Information do that to use iCloud and Appstore functions.

3.Set the 1. Boot drive to your Mac OS system drives UEFI partition in your Bios

The original onboard wifi chip isn't working with Mac OS, so you have to replace it with a compatible card like (DW1820A,DW1830,DW1560)
or simply use a wifi stick (not recommended by Tonymacx86

Summary
What works?

Ethernet
HDMI/Displayport
Power Management

iCloud
USB 2.0, 3.0, 3.1 Ports

Hello, Im a newbie in Hackintosh I tried to have a FRESH install Catalina using ur ufi(EFI DGPU Catalina). But in the installation of the OS I have an error "bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk" any recommendation?

thanks!

Worked for me as a charm on Asus ROG STRIX H370-I GAMING + i5 9400 + RX 580 8G Sapphire, thanks a lot!
Same unsolved issue with the bless tool during the installation, but seems it is a common problem for 10.15.6.
As addition to your headless setup I tweaked it for DRM support in Safari and TV by updating the Lilu to 1.4.4 and WEG to 1.3.9 and adding the shikigva=80 at boot.
Still have an issue with the DGPU fans off and not working bluetooth
