okay when i plug an USBC peripheral it's working like my phone or anything USB controled

but when i plug a thunderbolt peripheral like my audio interface or a thunderbolt dock it's not working
Do you have any other kind of device you can use to test? A dock doesn't do much if there's no other hardware to plugged into it. If you have a thunderbolt hard drive to plug into it, that would be a better test. Most of the time Thunderbolt is not able to be hotpluged, so when you plug into it, you have to reboot with the device on. I know you know this and already tried doing so with your interface, but do you have another device to try with it?

I let the UAD apollo at work it's the only peripheral with thunderbolt i've got BUT ... i've changed a parameter in the bios of the blade in the thunderbolt tab

i've put no security instead of user control (or something like that i don't remember the exact name)
maybe it change something for the hotplug you maybe can try this

and maybe it could have make my thunderbolt work it's strange because

when i plug the dock in the thunderbolt port in the system infos it says "pas de gestionnaire" in french "no manager ?" see the picture
when i unplug the dock it says no hardware found that's okay

for you to know i've installed osx on an external SSD that i've plugged in the dock and i was able to boot and to use the ethernet port on the dock but maybe all of these are controled with the usb controller

i'll try again my apollo monday i let you know if i find something or if it works

thanks for your help

The fact that it changes to "no manager" when you plug in the dock is showing that the Thunderbolt Hardware itself is working and that OSX is detecting a device. But since the device itself does not have any kind of function or driver, it comes up as "no manager". Let me know on Monday what you come up with when you try the Apollo again since you changed that setting in the BIOS.

Hello Vettz500 i'm back at work and everything is working you are absolutly right about thunderbolt it's not handling hotplug and my apollo is working fine

but you should mention in the guide to change the thunderbolt parameter to "no security" if not osx won't work with thunderbolt peripheral but seems to work with usbc peripherals

When i put no security my audio device is detected and works exactly as on a mac except for hot pluging

I hope this will help and thanks for all the work you've done for razer blade owners it was a pleasure to follow this guide !

Has anyone tried following the original guide but on sierra 17G66 build? When I select "install osx" in clover after booting from USB I'm greeted with wonderful "macOS not supported on this platform" error.

(RB 15 2018, 1070, 1tb samsung 970 evo plus, wifi modded as prescribed in the original post)

PS. For the lost souls that can't see "instal osx" option when booted from USB - run this after your bootable usb stick with unibeast: "rm -f /Volumes/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra/.IAPhysicalMedia"

That worked flawlessly. Very impressed how great this works now. I finally upgraded to the latest version, and no issues. DP works fine too (with the latest Nvidia driver).

For anyone using installinstallmacos.py (to upgrade to 2208) and it fails with one of these errors:

ERROR_B14B14D9B7
ERROR_2062F74259
ERROR_B85E600482

Edit 091-95774.English.dist with sudo (it's in the subfolders under where the script was ran from) and change function InstallationCheck to this;

JavaScript:
function InstallationCheck(prefix) {
    return true;
}

You might want to add this to the guide vettz500. This function will often fail because the pre-req's are not met on the
hackintosh.

I just finished building my, I went for high sierra after reading vettz500 was using it as daily driver for a while and didn't have any issues. Might upgrade to mojave later on, I want to see if AppStore update would work.

Here are some takeaways if you are about to install yours:

  • I was an idiot and I didn't listen and I didn't use suggested High Sierra build :) Downloaded whatever my old mbp13 gave me via adminscripts and had bunch of issues because of it. Move heaven and earth and get your hands on that correct HS build - 17G2208
  • I was an idiot and didn't check UniBeast version before starting the fun. That caused a lot of issues down the line (i.e. I didn't see 'instal high sierra' in clover boot menu). Make sure you are using Unibeast 8.3.2
  • I was an idiot and I bought Samsung 970 EVO PLUS. Don't buy Samsung 970 EVO PLUS, buy regular Samsung 970 EVO. The PLUS version is a new m.2 drive that they lunched recently. It doesn't work with hackintosh right now - I was lucky enough the seller had a 'quick return' policy and the regular drive lying in store :)

Otherwise it went smoothly and everything works :) he said after 2 days of hacking and pulling whatever was left of his hair
