Yeah - to take the DVD drive out of the laptop ... in my case, that's the only way to make sleep/wake work properly.
Because optical drive leading to panic reboot:

Go to BIOS - put full UEFI mode there from Legacy mode

download my EFI OC 0.5.8

I'm running on 10.15.3 (not able to update to 10.15.7, that's why I want to directly Big Sur)
