[Guide] Lenovo U310/U410 using Clover UEFI (10.11)

You said awhile back in one of your posts that you would not recommend Sierra as a daily driver on laptops. Now that many problems got fixed. Do you think it's reliable now or should I go back to El Capitan? One feature I need is pptp VPN but I'll find an alternative.

I'm running Sierra or High Sierra on all my hacks.
Most of the Sierra problems have been solved (and High Sierra seems ok so far).
 
That's good to hear! I'm eager to run MacOS on my newer Kaby Lake laptop.

Hi, just out of interest, did your U410 run fine (except for the brightness and hdmi audio) right out the gate after updating to High Sierra? Im still stuck on 10.11.6 and been way too nervous to update. Also i hear theres a new file system in 10.13, did that cause you any issues?

Hi RehabMan, im attempting to update to 10.13 from 10.11.6 however im having an issue. I have made the relevant precautions before updating, updating clover, saving relevant kext and also attempted to run the 10.13 installer via your 'Avoid APFS conversion on High Sierra update or fresh install' guide but i end in a infinite loop (laptop keeps restarting) when it reboots into 'boot macos install..' i have attempted to re download 10.13 from the app store but get the same thing. Would you be able to help me resolve this please?

Your VoodooPS2Controller.kext is too old for Sierra/High Sierra.
I didn't check anything else.

Yes, probably.
Sometimes, booting back into your install after a failure cancels the previously started install.
