Lenovo T430 - Yosemite

Maybe you can try to put this in your boot.plist.
If you fail with that config, boot with unibeast stick and delete the entry.

key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1600x900x32</string>

Hi, this fixes the boot splash so it is the correct resolution. However unfortunately I still get a black screen when in at the OS. I recall using a DSDT fix or a device-properties in boot.plist entry in a half working Mavericks once but I can't recall exactly what was required and not sure if it would be applicable on Yosemite.

If I put the following in my org.chameleon.Boot.plist then the Notebook display works fine in Yosemite (native res 1600x900), however this then prevents the DP port from working - I can't use the external TFT:

<key>device-properties</key>
<string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000004006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>

I have no idea how 'device-properties' works, but I don't really want to maintain 2 sets of Boot.plist's for various device states.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. Please see attached.

You need to inject a different ig-platform-id. You currently have 01660003. But need 01660004. The method depends on the bootloader you're using.

Hi RehabMan,

Per the guidance on the initial post in this thread I was using Chimera4 boot loader. I found that when I used IGPlatformID=01660004 I was still having the same problem (despite bdmesg showing it has picked up the boot flags).

I see the recommendation in a similar thread (Lenovo Yoga 13, similar HW, same issue) is to use an alternative boot loader such as Clover. Do you recommend that I also take this route? Clover migration looks awfully convoluted :-S

IGPlatformID is broken in Chimera4.

Use Chameleon or Clover instead.

Found a bug in applehda, yosemite or whatever ...

Following scenario:

play music over bluetooth
shutdown laptop
shutdown bluetooth device

start laptop - while bluetooth device is offline
-> no audio card will be recognized

Error message:
kernel : Sound assertion in AppleHDAController at line 556
kernel : Sound assertion in AppleHDAController at line 413

Workaround for now:
-> disable bluetooth on laptop and reboot

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

My Specs

System: Lenovo T430 (Chimera)
CPU: Intel Core i5-3320M / Mobile Intel QM77 Express
Graphics: Intel® HD 4000 1600x900
Storage: HD 320 GB
Memory: RAM 8GB

I followed this guide, but still the graphics come from me so I'm installing from a usb stick. Clover had previously tried this guide:
www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/293762-thinkpad-t430-mavericks-109x-yosemite-1010/

but my graphics were very poor, only (4mb).

Am I doing something wrong ?, I need mavericks installed first and then upgrade to yosemite?

Thanks

Try IGPlatformID=01660004

Make sure Chimera 4.0.1...
