Hey mate your laptop has similar configs as mine, X39o minus the intel wifi card do you think this should work for the models with a bit of tinkering?

I am curious to know whether SideCar works properly with your builds, as mine is quite similar(based on same chipset) - and I even have a DW1820a lying around if that is the issue (I am on a DW1560 atm which should have better compatibility)

Well.... sidecar is in system properties. It appears to be working...
sadly I don' t have the hardware to check...

sadly I don' t have the hardware to check...

I have it in system preferences, no problem. It even appears on the top ready to connect. However, when I select my iPad it inevitably times out whatever I do. I've tried:
* Numerous updates for kexts and/or plugins.
* Numerous updates to macOS (from 10.15.1 up to 10.15.6)
* Numerous iPadOS updates
* "Reset network settings"
* Sign-out and sign-in on all devices
* Changing brcmfx-country codes
* Changing SMBIOS to MacBookAir 2018

Meanwhile, my iPhone shows ready for an instant hotspot, but times out as well.
Import from iPad and iPhone both show up, but do not work. (time-out every time)
iMessage DOES work
Hand-off DOES work
Continuity DOES work
Copy/paste between devices DOES work
AirDrop DOES work (Albeit it takes a long time to discover the laptop...)
Generally speaking, bluetooth is somewhat problematic - where my MX Master3 mouse sometimes looses connectivity for a few seconds - and then "catches-up" on any actions I've taken with it.

.... suffice to say I am completely baffled! Any advice will be very highly appreciated.

happy hacking!

Hello, I am planning to buy a S540-13IML. Can I use this guide to install Catalina?

dont buy it..
trackpad is a real problem..
also as usual, you have to change wifi card already installed..
I managed to get the trackpad working, I have the same laptop as you.
I'll attach the ssd patch that fixed it for me.
hope it work for you!

There is an ACPI error with the Big Sur - open core EFI, probably present in the Catalina - clover EFI too (i cannot test it).

The error presents in Console every time power is plugged or unplugged.

It will look like this:

This ACPI error can be solved with the provided here files.
STEPS:
1. Place the provided SSDT-POWS.aml in your ACPI folder (of clover or opencore)
2. Insert in the ACPI section of your config.plist the patch in the provided POWS.plist

I will update the EFIS as soon as can..
