It would wake but the brightness would be all the way down. Tested the USB WIFI and works fine without it. Plugged it back in and works just fine. I feel so dumb. Thanks, I'll try restarting.

No idea on the brightness issue.. .Have not heard of that one before. Use debug ACPIBacklight.kext and check system.log to see what is happening with it.

So to narrow the problem down, sleep works fine when lid is open. Display fails to brighten when goes to sleep lid is closed then opened.

It is probably a DSDT issue. Instrument your _WAK/_PTS methods to see if they execute beginning to end. ACPIDebug is handy for this: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Debug

Follow post #1.

Borrow a Mac from someone you know.

I am planning to buy this laptop :thumbup::thumbup: (i3 processor), do you have any update on what is working and what is not?
Do you have native power management? and external hdmi port is working?
Thanks for your help.

All are possible with correct installation/post-installation.

Read the stickies here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/

The "guide" in post #1 omits a lot of post-install steps required for full functionality.
