@trs96 as far as cpu the I7 3770 is the highest for the motherboard on the 9010 correct? Or can it be upgraded? Thanks again for all the help.

That's the best you can do. 4 cores and 8 threads. It works well for most tasks.

Realtek USB Wifi Adapters
These should not be your first choice for Wifi. The Broadcom cards that you can install in a PCIe slot are going to give you the fastest speeds. They also work natively. There are some situations where you don't have the option to go the Broadcom card installed in a PCIe slot route. In that case you could try one of these Realtek USB wifi adapters. I have tried a few of the TP-Link versions in the past. I don't use them currently. These will work with the right drivers but as I've said, the speeds you get will not match what a Broadcom card installed to PCIe will give you.

Packages for Hackintosh PC or Laptop
Known Working and Tested Adapter

  • EDIMAX- EW-7722UTn V2
  • EDIMAX N300
  • TRENDnet N150 Micro
  • TL-WN823Nv3
  • TL-WN823Nv2
  • TL-WN725Nv3
  • TL-WN722Nv3
  • TL-WN821Nv6
They are relatively inexpensive and give you basic connectivity if you don't have an ethernet connection to use.
See Chris1111's Github page for more info on this. I've attached the app he made for installing the drivers below.

@trs96 I ordered the one recommended from Newegg fenvee I believe. That should work without drivers correct? And can probably use on a later build.

Yes, native support. Use it in any PCIe slot that works.

@trs96 any recommendations on replacement fans for the case and a new heatsink or just a fan upgrade?

One dumb thing Dell did was use proprietary 5 pin fan headers so the easiest way is to simply use their fans. I've tried the 5 pin to 4 pin adapters and they work but you won't get PWM regulation when using them.

@trs96 I saw a video on YouTube where they cut a opening at the front to put a bigger fan to help push air to the back. Might give that a shot and see what happens. Don't want to change the case just yet. Also I need to buy caddy cages since mine didn't have any sadly. Or is there a alternative to them? Thank you

You can buy the OEM dell ones on Ebay and most other replacement parts. There are huge overstocks of any part you need because so many millions of these were sold worldwide.

When I transplanted my 7010 MT to my Powermac G4 case which holds a 120mm fan, I was able to use a 120mm Dell Foxconn fan, since the powermac case was set up for that size. No bios errors, so it seems switching sizes are ok as long as you stick with Dell equipment.
