[Guide] Install 10.11 beta on HP EliteBook/ProBook/others with Clover UEFI

Hm, I don't get it. Installed El Capitan in another partition today. Everything works fine. Everything except the audio. I have installed the AppleHDAIDT.kext in /S/L/E (the one for ID 76D9), I have added the kext patch AppleHDA 8419D411 -> D9761D11 and the HDMI audio patch AppleIntelFramebufferCapri 040600000004000081000000 -> 040600000008000006000000. Clover injects ID 12 (just in case, the DSDT has already that ID too) and still have nothing. According to Kext Wizard, the right AppleHDA (version 999.69c1) has been loaded. The HDMI audio works like it should, but the speakers are dead. What have I missed?

New (additional) audio patch required is: 8319D411 -> 00000000 (going from memory).

I'm certain it is already in the PBI-CE, should you decide to let it write a new config.plist for you.

Thanks, it works now! Sometimes something small like this one does the job :D
Done the migration manually:

1. Updated all the ProBook - specific kexts to the latest version from your repos.
2. Re-patched my DSDT with the latest patches from your repo.
3. Added BooterConfig=0x28 and CsrActiveConfig=0x3 to config.plist.

and that was pretty much all. Everything except the audio was working right after the first boot (I've tested the LAN, the brightness control, the card reader, the keyboard and the pad, the USB ports are ok thanks to the XHCI injector, the graphics runs ok), but now it works too.

BTW, is it normal to get such messages in console when rebuilding the cache in El Capitan:

10/2/15 9:28:07.519 PM com.apple.kextcache[761]: kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67030 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA2A for kext AppleHDAIDT.kext

I still have that flag in my config.plist, because I still have Yosemite, installed in my first partition, but I thought that flag is deprecated in El Capitan and there should not be messages like this one.

In order to format your flash drive with GPT partition table, you should select your flash drive in Disk Utility and then use the Erase button. The partition scheme selection is in the third drop-down menu.
Is that what you ask?

BTW, that new version can't produce multi-volume MBR partitioned drives anymore. When you use the Erase button, that option creates only one partition and the Partition button is enabled only for HFS+ formatted drives. Pity...

Post #1 has recommendations for WiFi/BT hardware.

Buying a BT card is the only option? This USB adapter worked fine in Yosemite

How can I delete / hide the recovery partitions (I have 2 of them now shown in clover menu)?

Cheers

Great guide, thanx!

I did update my 4530s from 10.10.x and everything but sound is working.

Additional information:
repairing permissions or rebuilding kext cache using KextWizard messes up my system reproducable. After doing so, booting ends up in a kernel crash with fading gradient colors on screen. To fix this, I booted from USB and repaired permissions using Disk Utility (10.11 First Aid). To re-build cache I deleted an extension called BootCache.kext, which has solved all my other issues (WiFi and Battery not detected).

If someone could give me a hint how to bring sound back to life?

Troubleshooting attached.

The flag is deprecated and has no effect with 10.11. I just tested without it, and the message still shows. I think Apple just didn't update the text.

I still have 10.10 so I keep the flag too. Does no harm to have flags that do nothing.

BTW, I may call on you in the near future to test something... I managed to run my u430 with all native A CPI using ACPI hotpatches with config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches, Abitrary injection, and other techniques. I may try the same on the ProBook. I'll let you know how it goes.
