[Guide] Install 10.11 beta on HP EliteBook/ProBook/others with Clover UEFI

The audio issue was fixed after two reboots, as in step #14, sorry for that. Also the fn keys work, I just realized that pressing fn is not necessary and that there might be a bios option.

So the only remaining issue so far seems to be the standy mode, or the laptop freezing after some time (although I disabled the hibernate options in power management).

I will post the IOreg and patchmatic information, thanks a lot for the quick reply.

AFAIK, the PBI-CE disables hibernation (via 'pmset -a hibernatemode 0').

Post also EFI/Clover folder.

True, I also ran that peset command just to be sure and also verified it later. Does the system still call it "hibernate" in the apple menu though?

The requested files are attached.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure what you're referring to. Please clarify.

Terminology:
hibernate == suspend to disk == ACPI S4
sleep == suspend to RAM == ACPI S3

Recommend OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi instead of OsxAptioFix2-64.efi.

Recommend OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi instead of OsxAptioFix2-64.efi.

In the apple menu, would it still be called "hibernate", even when pm-settings are changed to 0, so only sleep==standby is allowed?

I will change that and report back. Although standby worked a few times now, just not reliable yet. I will further investigate.

Does the webcam work out of the box? It's not recognized here (checked with Photo Booth).

Apple menu has no "hibernate" option. Only sleep.

Check in "System Information"->USB.

Ah then it's related to the German translation I guess, don't worry :cool:

It's a logitech:
Code:
[FONT=Helvetica Neue]  Produkt-ID:[/FONT][FONT=Helvetica Neue]    [/FONT][FONT=Helvetica Neue]0xc52b[/FONT][FONT=Helvetica Neue]  Hersteller-ID:    0x046d  (Logitech Inc.)[/FONT]
[FONT=Helvetica Neue]  Version:    12.01[/FONT]
[FONT=Helvetica Neue]  Geschwindigkeit:    Bis zu 12 MBit/s[/FONT]
[FONT=Helvetica Neue]  Hersteller:    Logitech[/FONT]
[FONT=Helvetica Neue]  Standort-ID:    0x14200000 / 3[/FONT]
[FONT=Helvetica Neue] Verfügbare Stromstärke (mA): 1000[/FONT]
[FONT=Helvetica Neue] Erforderliche Stromstärke (mA): 98[/FONT]
[FONT=Helvetica Neue] Zusätzlicher Betriebsstrom (mA): 0[/FONT]
[FONT=Helvetica Neue]  Integriert:[/FONT][FONT=Helvetica Neue]    [/FONT][FONT=Helvetica Neue]Ja[/FONT]

So i just need to get some logitech drivers I guess?

Assuming that is a camera... No serial# means trouble.

For you to verify, as I can't read German.

Well, I don't care that much at the moment. This might have been asked before, however i did not find anything searching this thread: Can the HW sensor kext be used? As soon as I add them to the kext 10.11 folder i get a freeze on boot at ACPI:... Any advice on that? I'd like to check whether cpu frequency scaling is working properly.

Cheers!

No idea without hardware details...

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
Mobo: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

..

But HwMonitor is not the correct way to check pstates. Use AppleIntelInfo.kext instead.

Well it does give you a good indication about the power (W) usage though. But agree for more detailed information regarding P,C-States it's not the best. I installed the Intel Power Gadget and can at least verify the scaling.

But thanks for the hint about the kext I didn't know about it yet.
