hi guys, I'm trying to fix everything on my new laptop.
here the specs and what's working and not. (I'm using OpenCore)
Product
9YK91EA HP Spectre x360 Laptop - 15-eb0002nl
CPU
Intel Core i7-10510U (1.8 GHz - 4.9 GHz Turbo Boost, 8 MB L3 cache, 4 cores)
RAM
16 GB DDR4-2666 (onboard)
GPU
Intel UHD 630 (0x9B41, spoofing 0x3E9B)
NVIDIA GeForce MX330 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
SSD
1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD (Samsung pm981a)
Display
39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal 4K UHD, UWVA, AMOLED, multitouch-enabled, 400 nits, 100% DCI-P3 (3840 x 2160)
Wireless connectivity
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX 201 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5 Combo (AR 9462 detected)
Expansion slots and ports
1x microSD reader
1x usb 3
1x usb C
1x thunderbolt 3
what's working:
-power management (checked with hwmonitor, intel power gadget and ioregistry explorer)
-igpu acceleration (dgpu disabled) (youtube 1080p60 works as on windows, 2160p60 lags a little as on windows)
-touchpad, touchscreen, pen(with buttons too), gestures
-keyboard (with backlight), (fn keys ok after patching DSDT, want to create SSDT for this)
-audio without internal mic
-battery status and AC without any patch
-usb ports and microSD card reader
-camera (tested facetime and skype)
-wifi (slow...)
-bluetooth (need to configure properly USB, no handoff)
-brightness control (hdr and color profile problem)
-HDR (turns on automatically when playing HDR content, safari doesn't support 4K HDR so use another browser)
-HDMI
not working and will never:
-dgpu (NVIDIA)
-fp sensor, infrared sensors
-internal ssd pm981a (waiting for a fix, but guess it needs to be replaced)
not fixed/tested yet:
-automatic screen rotation (not tested, can't move because of shitty cable connecting the hd)
-sleep (not tested due to external hd)
-internal mic
-thunderbolt (I haven't any thunderbolt device)
PLEASE CREATE YOUR SSDT USING YOUR DSDT AND USING SSDT time master

1)update your bios and set this:
intel software guard extensions (SGX): disabled
virtualization technology: enabled
fan always on:enabled
usb charging: disabled
battery remaining time:enabled
adaptive battery optimizer: enabled
network boot: disabled
secure boot:disabled
2)create the necessary ssdt:
-follow the guide (link above) to extract your DSDT and create all the SSDT
3)using my config.plist:
-complete the smbios section (seems that OpenCore configurator doesn't break anymore plists)
PROBLEMS I FACED:
-DSDT and SSDTs:
don't know why, if I include my patched DSDT I get a kernel panic, related to usb? thunderbolt
Update:
-seems that my version of MaciASL and aisl were old, no more kernel panic with patched DSDT, however I don't use it because at the moment all the patches are applied with ssdts.
-fixed smbus with proper ssdt
-fixed usb with SSDT-RHUB, now bluetooth works
-removed SSDT-PMC: not needed on Comet lake devices.
-Brightness:
-HDR checked:brightness slider works and but colors are washed out (same problem found on external displays on real mac)
-HDR unchecked: when playing HDR content, brightness slider controls luminance
-Internal microphone:
-stupid f12 button(if related to this I don't know what to do), I'll try to fix this dumping the codec from linux
USEFUL APPS:
-hackintool
-opencore configurator (who says it doesn't work hasn't tried last version)
-hw monitor
-ioregistry explorer
-maciasl
-heliport (for wi-fi)
