no need, it has been common knowledge for a few years, besides which, many users have jumped ship to OpenCore

It is also mentioned in the link I gave you

Thanks. its all new again and looks very highly advance stuff -OpenCore- to learn vs rehabman's o.p guide.

I test installed mac os x 12.3.1 Monterey installed and worked with someone else pre made OpenCore EFI config for probook elitebook zbook g(x) series from other people with success.
but it looks like Monterey wont boot if smbios is macbookpro11,1, to 11,4, must be 11,5 or higher, 12,1

Homebrew killed support for 10.13.x ... looking at 10.14.6 for next solid stable production osx

I'm going through the main guides Dortania, including the link you gave.
I also found a similar guide for the visual learners:

OpenCore Visual Beginners Guide 2022
This is intended to be a beginner friendly OpenCore guide which uses mostly GUI Tools like OCAuxiliaryTools and OCLP to create a vanilla hackintosh install. This should make starting out with OpenCore more accessible. Everything done by these tools is transparent to the user and allows complete customization. All downloads are from official sources, usually from the Github repos of the original developers. This guide is based on the by Dortania only making minimal changes when using compatible GUI tools. You do need to read, study and understand the basics of the first before embarking on any hackintosh project.

I wonder if OpenCore Legacy Patcher is as close to the patches used rehabman guide can be used to patch Probook Elitebook Zbooks g(x) series x:1,2,3,..n

On Elitebook 840 G4 wake from sleep is causing issues. Many apps freeze or crash. Google Chrome won't launch (but it will run if already running). Safari crashes on any page with a video. Preview will open some documents, but not others, especially pictures. The only solution is rebooting. Everything else is working good. Same occurs in High Sierra (i'm on high sierra) and Mojave. Is there any solution for this?
Hi! Did you solve this wake issue?
Have same problems on Zbook G3 and G4

So my findings at the end of this for anyone with problems, for mojave and catalina, if you use macos mojave patcher.dmg or catalina patcher and install the fixes in the post install included and then use all the latest versions of the kexts used in this original guide.
And of course an appropriate version of clover "thanks Feartech" the install is pretty straight forward.

Hi! Need help to solve WAKE Issue

Zbook G3 wake from sleep is causing the apps to freeze or hang. QuickTime and other players doesn't work. Safari will freeze too. Tried VoodooTSCSync.kext, but nothing happens. The only way is to solve glitchy apps performance is rebooting.

Problem is on any OS i have (Catalina, High Sierra)
