[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Status
Not open for further replies.
Typically, you install Clover and configure it exactly like you did for USB.
This gets you Clover, proper/required drivers in drivers64UEFI, and a basic config.plist.
Then after verifying you can boot from the HDD/SSD, you go through the post-install specific to the Probook.
Obviously, if you know what you're doing, you can skip some steps and go directly to Probook specific post-install.

Thanks Rehabman,

Now it boots into hdd clover - I have 3 logos macOS, recovery, install macOS - but if I continue with from macOS it gets onto screen with apple logo and progress bar and stays there
I have to manually boot from usb clover to get to the desktop again
Does it matter usb clover and hdd clover are different versions?

here's the hdd clover archive with f2 f4 attached

Thank you

Your config.plist is not correct. At the stage you're at, you should be using the same config.plist as your USB EFI/Clover.
EFI/Clover/kexts is also not correct.
See guide for correct initial EFI/Clover setup:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

You should set a DisplayProductName in your display override such that you can verify the display override is being picked up.

I see the DisplayProductName.

With Original IODisplayEDID from DarwinDumper in /System/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides BlackScreen after boot.
With change to B5, A5, 80 Boot ok but Crash after Sleep (Restart)
Nothing Help with edit IODisplayEDID

Another Idea?

As per guide, Windows should be installed UEFI.
Thanks RehabMan,
I thought I had, but reinstalled Windows 10 and all good, now fully functioning dual boot.

Thanks again!

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/
Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

My hack is working ok 5 months for now, there is only one small problem which is bothering me from begining...

Bluetooth does not work after sleep :( On the rare occasions it works, if computer is woken up immediately after sleep, if it is sleeping for longer time, bluetooth say not available and does not work until reboot.

My BT card is 1300Mbps WiFi+Bluetooth 4.0 Azurewave AW-CB160H BCM94360HMB

Your USB configuration is wrong due to your edits to config.plist.
Remove kernel flag -uia_ignore_rmcf that you mistakenly added.

I have HP Probook 430 G5 ,
Is Anybody give me advice how to right install HighSierra, where download kext files, how to patch DSDT for my laptop.
Because I have installed HS 10.13.3, but I have some troubles:
-sound works a bit times, and then I reboot a few times and sound doesn't work;
-battery management doesn't work;

I used clover and kexts from here:
Thanks.
P.S
I attached native DSDT, audio codec dump, output from lspci

Hello! As I said earlier, I bought a HP ProBook 450 G5.

Following your instructions I was able to install it.
My laptop has integrated unsupported nvidia gpu.
I had to disable it in BIOS so that the installer could work.
Now I can boot with kexts and other files including config.plist derived from installer flash drive.
I trying to use G4 config config_4x0s_G4_Kabylake.plist . (Final config.plist section this guide)
The only change is:
ig-platform-id=0x59160000

I get following message on boot:
Code:
IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0

Can you point me to right direction? It is my first experience with laptop.
Finally I would like to enable nvidia gpu for dual win 10 installation.

Thank you so much for your work!

Try with either g4 or g5 setup, as per post #1.
