[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

I ended up making a bootable USB and upgraded through it.
It booted really slow at first. I decided to reboot then it wouldn't boot any more due to kernel panics (which I ignored).
I formatted the whole partition and decided to do a fresh install.
Now I'm on Sierra:
- No audio (should I try the 0x11d4198a to zero patch?)
- Audio and brightness keys not working (no fix)
- Caps lock is unreliable (no fix).
- SysPrefs -> Trackpad is empty (didn't try the workaround).
Apart from that I still couldn't find any more problems.

If you have no audio, you did something wrong. Read post #1, "Problem Reporting".

FYI I didn't follow the guide at all since it's intended for 10.11, back in the day I had used PBI which got everything working for me.

Hi,

Managed to get up and running 4740s with the Clover update process.

The only things that are not working now:

1. Sound - they mention toledo but i do not even know what type of sound my build (notebook) has ALC????

-no success with this with 120 script with almost every model tried . . .

2. Hotkeys - it is not that of a big deal . . . but a fix would be good.

PLease someone help me.

10x :)

You did not follow the guide. Read post #1. The files (to the extent possible ATM) are already updated for 10.12 and in fact will work for older versions than 10.11 as well (all the way down to 10.6.8 depending on hardware compatibility).

Read post #1. This guide does not use toleda's scripts.

Should read 'Install macOS'. OS X is for versions prior to 10.12.

I don't see where you attached your EFI/Clover folder.
Hi attach the clover folder

Your EFI/Clover is wrong. There are no kexts in EFI/Clover/kexts/Other. Without FakeSMC.kext, it is not surprising you cannot boot the 10.12 installer. FakeSMC.kext is compulsory for all hacks.

Read post #1 and related links for the correct setup.

Hey everybody.

First thank you guys for your hard work.

I try to install El Capitan the first time on my new HP Elitebook 8470p.

I used the guid in post #1 but i cant get to the install screen.

The last text i see with verbose is

then the screen gets black and nothing happens...

I have tried the guid from start to end 5 times but nothing changes.

Hope anyone can help me.

Thank you

Hi Ezag91
I have same laptop, and installed without problem El Capitan
you keep more attention when prepare USB boot and select the correct option on Choosing a config.plist in the 3d
Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover

black screen depend of wrong resolution of the screen.

Bye
