[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

Status
Not open for further replies.
I think I did everything you suggested:
1. Deleted OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi from Clover\Drivers64UEFI
2. Ran ._installdownloads.sh.
3. Downloaded latest version of GenericUSBXHCI.kext (2015-1215)
4. Ran kextbeast with kext on desktop
5. Rebuilt kextcache
6. Rebooted a few times

Results:
Now have sound back ... but ... no success on USB3 ports.
I'm at a loss, hope you have more suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Check kernel logs for messages from GenericUSBXHCI.kext.

With my limited knowledge I don't know how to check the logs.

Help please

Kernel logs in 10.11 are in /var/log/system.log.
You can also view them in Console.app.

You should have some logs when it tries to start.
You might try seeing what you get if you try 'sudo kextutil /System/Library/Extensions/GenericUSBXHCI.kext'

It is normal output.
Check the kernel log.
And do you have the debug version installed?

Again limited by knowledge...
Can't find kernel.log
debug version? is this an option in clover or ?

Kernel log is at /var/log/system.log

Never mind... I forgot that Zenith123 never did a separate debug build. It contains direct calls to IOLog instead of through a conditional debug/release macro.

So... it always logs any errors.
