@xworm

The audio mute button (Fn + F7) does work. And so does the volume up and down (Fn + F8/F9).
I guess you're talking about muting the mic ? I was wondering if the square shape button for toggling internal speaker work ?

Edit:Just checked keyboard layout of 820G3 - F7 is for muting speaker, different with 840G3. and there's no square shape button on top right corner of 820 G3.
Most important of all is audio chip : CX7501(820 G3) vs CX20724 (840 G3). means I can't take yours as ref. :(

For a simple try I just copied the kext to EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other and rebootet the system (/L/E should be a better place for permanent use).
you're right. I didn't try EFI folder, the kext works OOB with /L/E path.

Hi there. Great tutorial. Followed RehabMan and now came here to create my HiDPI profile. Thanks for that.

Thanks for the guide!

For those of you trying to install with the the latest version of Clover, you need to modify the driver-paths in the install_downloads.sh file (post-installation steps).

Before I could start the macOS Installer I had to copy some patched files to the USB drive to get past "apfs_module_start": https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/installation-stuck-at-apfs_module_start-1683.285361/

For now I have Catalina running on my 820 G3, I just need to figure out why the sound is not working. :think:

So after installing a BCM94352Z into my 820 G3 I noticed significantly longer startup times (the Apple logo shows longer) and after startup/login the "Wi-Fi" process is not responding, according to Activity Monitor. After about 2 minutes Wi-Fi works. Shutdown also takes way longer. Anyone else with similar problems?

Edit: Got it fixed! https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/bcm94352z-wifi-dnt-work-at-start-but-after-4min-and-slow-start-shutdown.285490/
Love this community <3

On a sidenote: I am stupid, because I disabled the Audio device in the bios settings. After activating, it works, of course. :silent:
