Greetings folks,

I’ve followed the Mac OS X Videos’ - Install Big Sur on the HP 8300 Elite videos and successfully set up a working hack.

While trying to setup the wifi, I used the wrong iteration of Open Core Configurator and destroyed my work.

What are my next steps to recover/save this project?

Thanks.

At start up after HP bios version appears and before the apple symbol would show up, I get black screen/white type - error scroll, where it stops.

Says…

OCS: HD schema - various issues listed here.
OCS: Failed to calculate size…
OCS: Driver at 0 can’t be found.
Halting on critical error

What steps should I take?

Many thanks in advance.

Many thanks.
I slowed down and reviewed the video a couple times.
Then I started all over again.

Looks good so far.
Need some sleep now though.

Thanks again.

I wish you all a merry Christmas time!

Get an HP 8th gen Coffee Lake system ? Probably not if the CPU base clock is 4.1 GHz it must be 10th gen.

Did you go with an MSI Tomahawk motherboard ? i5-10600K ?

Hi,

I did buy the MSI Tomahawk with i5 10600k (iGPU). For about 700 EUR with a good Case, 16GB and WD SN770 1TB.

Greetings
Dennis

Great choices Dennis, have a happy holiday ! Enjoy your new CustoMac.

Greetings,

I'm back facing some continuing problems with the HP 8300 that I recently posted about.
Stopping on boot up at Apple again.

(I'm using the video - Install Big Sur on the HP 8300 Elite by Mac OS X Videos at Youtube as a guide)

I have feeling it may be something to do with the Boot order or the Boot drive selection.

I'm not sure what the proper boot order or drive should be?
How do I check and correct these in the BIOS?

Thanks in advance

It can be installed normally with OpenCore 0.6.3 EFI provided by Sniki.
If you don't want to boot from USB when booting, you can select the USB drive with the F9 key.
