I did both and this is what I get. Every time the multicore score is lower. What else can I try? Is my machine infected?
I search this forum and found that removing cpu=1 from Boot/Arguments section of config.plist fixed that. I don't know where that flag came from. I don't recall messing with config.plist other than what the guide said. Thank you for your quick responses.

It would be interesting to see if one of these HP drives would do about 3GB/s reads in the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.
These are selling for an amazingly low 50 USD right now at Newegg. 256 GB size too.

Not quite!. Finally installed mine and got everything up and running quite quickly without any issues. I'm guessing the higher storage models of the EX920 or the EX950 are much faster, but even so, this is quick!!!.

3x the speed of Sata based SSDs is good for the low price you paid for the EX920.
May be that it's limited in read speeds because it's in a PCIe 2.0 slot instead of the faster/newer 3.0.
PCIe 2.0 can carry up to 5GT/s and a single PCIe 3.0 lane can carry 8GT/s.

Are you going to be testing in the x16 slot ? If you test it when using HD4000 and a x16 slot, I'd expect somewhat faster read speeds or it may be that 1.5 - 2.0 GB/s is the limit of what these motherboards can offer to us.

Yes I have it installed in the x16 slot and get HD4000 from my i3-3245 processor. I think it's down to what the motherboard can offer us. Even so like you said 3x the speed of a standard SSD is great for the price I paid.
