uhhmm ... when I download and install ThemeEngine I get the app opening with a pink frame
and I qm not able to browse thru the assets-archive ... how do I get rid of this pink frame ?

I am afraid I just tried and it did not work either.
I am running 10.14.1, which macOS version are you running.
In console I have a this error:

/cartool Original/Assets.car ./Assets
ASP
AppleCareBox
    AppleCareBox.png
2020-03-21 22:43:59.138 cartool[1591:103108] Failed to write image to ./Assets/AppleCareBox.png
Illegal instruction: 4

Tried with sudo but it did not change anything.

I guess it is better to recompile cartool with Xcode...

I had a better luck using ThemeEngine. Those instructions may help as well.

If I could figure out what the names of the PCI Cards Image set and other images sets so it wont crash
