(rewritten a few times to be as respectful as possible) @RehabMan Could you please clarify exactly what information or change from me you need? Are you referring to post #37 from here (including the voodoo keyboard kext, which I have, but I'm not far enough in the install to need yet), or post #37 from the FAQ (which shows a screenshot of a drive layout and asks for an EFI folder). I'm happy to include the problem reporting files. I just never intended to ask for in depth troubleshooting.

Post #37 refers to this thread.

Do you have anything plugged in the USB-C port when boot? I can hotplug only if one of the port has something plugged in during booting. If I boot without anything then I cannot hotplug with USB-C

I'm tethered to my iPhone at the moment with no nearby power outlet. To test this, I unplugged the tethering, rebooted the machine, let it turn back on with standard settings, added a dongle to my lightning cable, and after it booted, plugged it back in. Worked with no problems.

Have you properly injected all of your USB ports? Or are just using USBInjectAll.kext? Read here:

https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-USB-Inject-All

I found that my Thunderbolt port (the one closest to the HDMI port) only works if something has already been plugged in while booting. The rear one is a USB hub and should work fine hotplugging without any problems.

Ran into an issue this morning on boot, in which I received an "Incorrect Number of Threads" error on the disk. The boot called it a "minor disk repair" but it still would hang. Not sure if it was simply file corruption related to the install or a more serious disk error, but I had to go back to the USB installer and run Disk Utility on that to fix it. Disk Utility said the disk was OK. (Notably, when I ran the installer, the MacOS partition did not initially mount, but once I got it mounted, I was able to fix it.) I've since not had problems, though am keeping an eye on it.

@RehabMan I hope I'm getting the right files and following the correct steps. Post #37 here says to include VoodooPS2Contoller.kext (which I already have), then it refers to following the https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/ page.

I admit, I did not start with this. I started by creating a USB drive using Unibeast, then going straight into this thread since it's about the same laptop that I have. But today I skimmed the document, and everything I noticed there either was already done or didn't apply (like the sandy bridge stuff). I'm not perfect, so I totally could have missed something. Apologies if I did.

I'm attaching the problem reporting files I could get. My Clover folder is a bit messy. There are backup plists with different things I was trying. I also have a full ACPI\origin and ACPI\patched directories because I was trying your https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-only-ran-for-0-seconds-with-dual-gpu.233092/ post. I thought I did a decent job of my first SSDT patch, but it didn't seem to work.

Please let me know if you can help.

SSDT-DiscreteSpoof.aml has no effect with conflicting _DSM method.
The _DSM->XDSM patch is disabled in your config.plist.
Read here carefully:

Yes I am talking about the USB-C over TB3. Regular USB ports would have no issue hotplug

@RehabMan I just enabled the DSM->XDSM patch, but it didn't work. Man, I expected to have to spend a long time to learn how to patch my DSDT, but your document just enabling the patch in the config.plist. (I'll do it eventually, just late night on Sunday is not the time)

So, no, it didn't work. I had the same result. Eventually the screen clears and gives the same "WindowsServer ran for 0 seconds" and com.apple.displaypolicyd errors. It sounds to me that the DSM->XDSM patch didn't work, so it's not letting the SSDT-DiscreetSpoof.aml through.

The only thing that has changed since the last files I uploaded is the config.plist, so here it is

Thank you
