Hi,
I'm considering to buy the same laptop.
Are you going to update the rest of the guide?
[no pressure! Just wondering]
Thanks!

Thanks!

Get it. This is going to be fantastic or better than macbook pro replacement.

Since the graphics already worked and you already know how to get the basic installation rest of the things are going to be pretty easy or find it easy.

Replace the wifi with bcm4352z, you will have a working wifi.

use SSDT script for CPU power management.
webcam and pretty much every hardware is detected by OS.
Touchpad is good too, but you need to have a working battery indicator for it to work

The only thing that can be little hard is going to be GPU power management.

If you need help, we are always here.

I'm not getting the time to test and update the guide, but few days of your time you will have a working PC.

Nice info! Can you give us a list of what does and doesn't work? (E.G. HDMI, USB 3, trackpad, numpad, etc) I'm considering this and need a few more details if possible. A more fleshed out guide would be appreciated as well, although you did cover the main points. Are there any further pointers or info you can provide that's specific to this particular laptop?

install the nvidia web drivers
When you say install the nvidia web drivers, where did you get the web driver and what location do you install it to? Does it go into EFI/Clover/kexts/other? Is it just copy-and-paste?

You can literally google nvidia web drivers. It's a normal driver installer from nvidia's website.

Or you could just use the Downloads link at the top of this page.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the info.

The OP mentions "NO INTEL GRAPHICS. i can't even enable them even if i want to."
I have a somewhat similar Asus laptop design that has a dedicated Nvidia gpu with G-Sync and no Optimus.
As far as I have been able to tell from looking with Device Manager and HWInfo in Windows 10, there does not seem to be any vga driver to be able to use the Intel motherboard igpu, and Asus does not seem to provide any Intel vga driver for download for this model.
I have not yet tried to boot into Clover.

What I don't understand is how is it possible to view anything before the nvidia driver is installed? And how can you install the web driver pkg if there is no igpu working? (I'm asking this here because the original poster seems to have been able to do this.)

The graphics boot in their built in VESA mode to provide basic graphics capability but there is no acceleration.

Which config settings will work for the initial install?
RehabMan's Guide to Booting the OS X Installer on Laptops with Clover is written for laptops that have an Intel gpu, and it advises selecting one of the configs from his repository at https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Clover-Laptop-Config.
I am not sure, but I don't think any of those is for laptops that use an Nvidia gpu without access to an Intel gpu.
