how i uninstall the fakesmc motherboard plugins?

Hi, in Multibeast where you select the option for the fakesmc plugins it actually lists the path and filenames for the plugins:

"ACPIMonitor.kext, IntelCPUMonitor.kext and SuperIOFamily.kext FakeSMC plugins in /System/Library/Extensions."

You can uninstall them by moving them elsewhere i.e. for removing only the ACPIMonitor kext:

sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/ACPIMonitor.kext ~

HTH

So I was doing some editing in Final Cut Pro, and I accidentally opened iTunes .. the computer completely froze and I had to hard reboot it ... now it's glitching again. I was able to get a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

Any thoughts on this one?

Update:

As I was trying to change something in the body of this message, the computer froze. Here's what I pulled from the kernel log:

EDIT: These kernel panics were caused by the combination of the usekernelcache org.chameleon.Boot.plist setting enabled by default by Chimera 1.6 and the FakeSMC motherboard plugins. I decided to uninstall the motherboard plugins in the end and stick with userkernelcache because I had noticed that without this setting I would get HD3000 errors in the kernel log during startup. Not entirely sure what the errors were about and its effect but until I know I will assume that no errors are better than errors!

... How do you uninstall FakeSMC without losing the ability to boot the machine? I just did (using the method you posted above) and lost my Lion install LMAO. (I'm laughing cuz I think I've installed Lion about 25 times this week) lol

So if I understand the above (which I'm not sure I do) .. uninstall FakeSMC and leave usekernelcache org.chameleon.Boot.plist enabled?

Nevermind .. I struggle .. lol .. was confusing FakeSMC for booting up with FakeSMC Motherboard plugins ..

Just re-installed Lion, noticing that as soon as I run MultiBeast, the graphics glitches begin. Let's see if I can resolve them / narrow down what's causing the issue (will be repairing permissions after I do ANYTHING now lol)

Well it's funny you mentioned that about iTunes freezing because it froze on me too the other day, however after I rebooted I noticed there was an update for it so I installed it and it's been fine since...

Heh ... seems like if you play an HD video in QuickTime it resolves the graphics glitch for a while.

That's pretty consistent with what I noticed before. But now does playing a clip in Quicktime initiate some form of acceleration?

Update: Nevermind .. It's not making a difference. Just installed Final Cut, still having graphics glitches ..

It's odd that you guys are getting artefacts but I do not (unless I overclock), I wonder what is different between our configs..? My motherboard rev. is 1.0, there is also a 1.3 rev, which are you running?

The fact I only see them when overclocking suggests heat or voltage may be a factor, however the overclock is stable and I only see 1 or 2 glitches before it settles a few moments after booting. I get NO artefacts on stock clocks.

Also, have you made any other changes to the BIOS/Multibeast other than those listed in the guide? Perhaps also we could compare the contents of our /Extra/org.chameleon.boot.plist files and the output of "sudo dmesg" immediately after boot. I am away from home at the moment, but will post my details when I get back.

On my rig I used the rBoot + xMove method to install 10.7.2 directly, i.e.: I did not install 10.7.0 then upgrade with the combo update installer.

Just did a few forum searches and it seems a common issue, some have reported improvements lowering the voltage and others state they were glitch free on 10.7.1 and it started on 10.7.2...

memmerson

I installed Lion 10.7 with unibeast then used combo update to 10.7.2 after that installed multibeast with your settings. My board is rev 1.3 bios f8. I'm using 8gb memory recommended by tony for the custom mini.

here is my dmesg

The only addition I'm running now is a JMicron SATA card .. which isn't picking up the drive attached in OSX lol ... It works fine in Windows though. And a lot of hard disks that are NTFS. I enabled the Disk Kexts in Multibeast for the card.

CPU is running at stock speed and I have 8 GB of RAM installed. Board is flashed to F8 and is Rev 1.0
