What model NUC and which video output are you using? Do you have a different monitor you can try just temporarily and see if there's a similar issue?
NUC5I7RYH, MONITOR ACER S222HQL, I am using a transformer displayport to vga.
I tried to put the resolution to 1920x1080 and the left side of the screen is black.
What can be?

Thx for this awesome post!
ASUS PB287Q did indeed work, after setting the monitor to DisplayPort 1.2 :)

I am using a transformer displayport to vga.

The analog VGA connection seems most likely to be the issue to me. It looks like your monitor supports DVI and HDMI, so I would try a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable if at all possible (or a mini-DP converter to either HDMI or DVI if you must).

Ok getting a little further after turning off Trusted Platform Serial Port, and GPIO Lockdown. Compared your bios screen shots to mine and made everything as close as possible, but not everything is the same on my model.

Never get to the install screen. Stuck at this screen about 3/4 of the way. Any ideas?

thanks for the quick reply!

You can try these boot flags: -v IGPEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000 dart=0
Test with putting all in boot and start pc! For me it worked.

If that doesn't work, try booting verbose and see what's on the screen when it freezes.

Also make sure you're using the correct SSDT-1.aml in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/ because it sets the graphics configuration.

Finally, try booting 3 or 4 times and make sure it doesn't just work irregularly.

Hey there guys. tried your boot flag suggestions - here's what I did, along with the result. It's beachball city I'm afraid. still dont get to install screen, but we inch closer...
bootflags.JPGlastscreenbeforebeachball.jpgbeachball.JPG

Full disclosure: I brought the NUC into my office where I can test better / more often. it's now connected to a Dell 2311H monitor via a minidp->VGA adapter. this is the only change from my original report.

Wanted to do a quick sanity check - retraced my steps with the guide, and wanted to run these things by you for comment.

comments / questions in red below. thanks again so much! Sorry for all the n00bian questions.

BIOS Versions
5i3MYHE (download here):

  • More current releases: not yet tested
  • 0017: Works OK, but doesn't have certain BIOS options (such as the USB mode)
    • Mine's on v0030. It does not seem to want to go backwards from there, FYI

BIOS Settings on the NUC
The greyed out options below do not appear anywhere in my BIOS settings screens. I've attached more complete version of the "Legacy Device Configuration" options here along with a question in the screen shot:
10-5-2015_onboard device and Legacy config - all options.png

  • In Devices / Onboard Devices you can uncheck WLAN, Bluetooth, Near Field Communication (NFC), and Enhanced Consumer IR (unless you will dual-boot with an OS that recognizes all this hardware).
    • WLAN, Bluetooth, Near Field Communication (NFC), and Enhanced Consumer IR
Part 2: Install Clover Boot Loader
[1-18 all completed as instructed]
19. Set up config.plist (the Clover configuration file)

  • Edit the config.plist that you downloaded. Search for MacHDD and replace it with the name you intend to give your OS drive on the NUC. This is required for it to boot into the OS after a few seconds without waiting indefinitely for your input. Save config.plist.
MacHDD was replaced with "NUCintosh HD", saved config.plist to EFI/EFI/CLOVER/

  • If you don’t care about iCloud/iMessage/etc. then copy config.plist toEFI/EFI/CLOVER/ now
I skipped to step 20 at this point, no icloud/imessage/etc. for now. Did I need to do anything in #1-14 that's within step 19?

It seems like the integrated graphics just aren't starting for you. Can you confirm that you have SSDT.aml and SSDT-1.aml in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/ and perhaps double-check that they're identical to the i3 versions in the first post?

I haven't, but I might sit tight for the next week and do a fresh install with the official release using your updated guide. I'll report back on how that goes.

No luck with a fresh install on my i7 I'm afraid - I still get audio dropouts and distortion via headphones, HDMI and Bluetooth. This is with the official El Capitan release and the audio_cloverALC-110.command.zip. I'm dual booting with Windows 10, and audio plays without issue on all three outputs in Windows.

Again, opening the Input tab of the Sound system preference in El Capitan rectifies dropouts/distortion immediately and without fail, and leaving the Input tab open (or minimised in the dock) keeps the audio rock solid.

This isn't a huge deal for me as the system preference trick is a simple workaround, and it's still awesome to have this up and running thanks to ammulder and others in this thread. Having said that, if this problem crops up for others and someone wants to investigate further I'll provide whatever info I can.
