Is there any risk to my ssd if I don't do the 4k patch and install to external USB drive instead?
As long as you don't format or select the internal disk as target, no.

Thanks. All installed to a Sandisk extreme USB3 stick. Runs plenty fast and all working great! Using a USB wifi as I have the intel 8265 card installed.

Took the plunge to 10.12.6 just now. Do yourself a favor don't change anything in your SMBIOS or config, plist until after you finish the update b/c when it reboots for the update you won't have support yet, lol. I had my install USB so no big deal here. Also sign out of all iCloud, iMessage accounts before changing SMBIOS, so it doesn't get all jacked up.

You can now safely remove all the faking of Skylake CPU and GPU from clover config, no need to inject anything either. Under Devices section you no longer need the IntelGFX Fake ID, Graphics section can be completely empty, and remove FakeCPUID entry in Kernel and Kext Patches. All while using the new clover configurator generated MBP 14,3 SMBIOS.

You will still need the kexts FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics and FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.

Took another few Geekbench of CPU and no improvements, all within 1% of each other.
Unfortunately I did not bench the graphics before this update so that is a lost on my part.

My config is attached as well.

@KNNSpeed, please do some benchmarks before updating to 10.12.6 and switching to native KBL kexts, then do the same tests. In my 9360 build, I observed a notable performance increase in both CPU and GPU tests, 5-15%.

Maybe I'm not doing something right, but no changes for at least the CPU on Geekbench. Haven't had time to test sleep and see percentage drop overnight but previously it dropped 3%, 100-97 over a 24 hour span of time.
Edit: I just finished a 13 hour sleep test and it went from 100% to 100%. Yes you read that correctly....Awesome.

Edit: Obviously generate your own SMBIOS serial and stuff. The one included is just for reference.

[Fixed]@KNNSpeed for the audio fix, my SSDT-config.aml has only one reference to layout-id: `
AUDL indicates audio layout-id for patched AppleHDA. Ones: no injection[1p`. I assumed I needed to change value after the square bracket, but none of that seemed to work and have no audio at all now. I think I do every other point correctly, checked everything few times over. What to do here? Thanks! [update] headphone jack now works, only speakers don't :/ [update] managed to get SSDT-config.aml patched properly with MaciASL, but the speakers still won't work [update] got it working. tried opening the SSDT-confg.aml again, turned out it was corrupt. Replaced the file (that install USB comes in handy every now and then) and replaced the value for layout-id again, everything works as described now! Thanks a lot!

Hi, regarding the 4K patch. My XP9560 seems to be setup with 4k partitions out of the box so should I really need to follow the Linux guide to reformat?

I currently have osx installed to a USB stick but the internal SSD is not seen at all.

I checked current allocation size by running diskpart, selecting each volume then using the filesystems command.

"
DISKPART> filesystems
Current File System
Type : NTFS
Allocation Unit Size : 4096
Flags : 00000000"

IIRC, on top of physical sectors there's a layer of logical sectors, and that's what you're seeing in Windows.

Hey Crunchie,

could you please tell me the steps you used to install/run it of a USB drive instead of the internal SSD. I would like to do the same since I need my machine to be able to run windows too. Are you able to faux dual boot it with windows? Thanks!

Hi there I also would love to know how the internal drive patching works. My internal drive is the samsung pm 961 ssd. Is there any step by step guide? I m reading many pages lately but none of them makes my internal hard drive appear during installation of Os Sierra.

Thank you in advance

Quick question: Is it possible to replace the Killer card after installing macOS without a full reinstall?

I want to take a crack at getting macOS up and running before ordering a replacement WiFi card.

Sidenote: WiFi through a WiFi dongle should work fine, right?
i.e: I could make do with using a dongle for a week or two before the Killer replacement arrives.

Thanks!
