yes there should be a way, but i can't be doing with sifting through that config.plist you uploaded

clover configurator has also been known to break config.plist's especially with laptop ones
update:
ive just inserted USB installer and booted from BIOS into clover from USB where I've selected my Mojave on my HD
and everything is back to normal Sound & Brighness control!?
So that means that something is not copied over to the EFI HD Mojave so that it breaks sound/brighness?
Maybe when I was installing Clover on my HD in post install I haven't install something that was installed on the USB ?
My aim is to be able to boot from HD instead of USB every time...
Should I just try to copy EFI from USB to EFI on HD or ?

this is good

mount your efi from your usb stick, copy efi folder to desktop

remove usb stick

mount your efi on your hard drive, remove efi folder from efi partition

copy efi folder from desktop to efi partition on hard drive

reboot

gonna try it right now!:headbang:

It worked - not only the Sound & Brightness controls are back but even the startup screen with apple logo is the correct screen resolution at the startup!
man, you are a genius - thanks for helping a beginner out
now I can at least use the XPS 13 and discover step by step if there are any other issues to be resolve

Question 1:

Not sure if I should touch-edit change anything in Post Install as suggested in Mark Perez guide ?

Question 2:
in About This Mac there is wrong information i7 instead of i5 and 16gb instead of 8gb -
is this gonna give laptop any issues , break anything or should I leave it just as is ... since all seems to work?

memory issue, check your config.plist to see if there is any reference to memory modules, remove if needs be

processor, could be down to your system product name(smbios settings)

edit:
please update your hardware profile to allow others to help you easier

please read the faq for proper hardware profile setup:

updated my profile and signature

will this "memory" and CPU display issue cause anything on the long run , should I be worried?

On the 1st page of this Guide there is warning that Autopoweroff & Hibernation mode should be disabled as deep sleep can lead to system corruption?
is this only valid for NVME 512b Drives installed and not important for SATA M.2 drives?

I've swapped default Toshiba NVME drive for SATA M.2 drive with 512b sectors size.

here is an output of sudo pmset -g terminal command:

$ sudo pmset -g
Password:
System-wide power settings:
Currently in use:
standbydelaylow 10800
standby 1
halfdim 1
hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage
proximitywake 1
powernap 1
gpuswitch 2
disksleep 10
standbydelayhigh 86400
sleep 1
autopoweroffdelay 28800
hibernatemode 3
autopoweroff 1
ttyskeepawake 1
displaysleep 10
tcpkeepalive 1
highstandbythreshold 50
lidwake 1

Hybernation and autopoweroff are sat to 1 ....
can I keep it this way or?

would need to see your new config.plist

run the 5 terminal commands from:

would need to see your new config.plist
Attaching whole Clover EFI folder from the USB stick
Note : I haven't ever edited anything in Clover with any editor,
the is OOTB installation.

  • What works ( so far )
sleep works
wake works with power button.
Built in speakers sound out - works
Sound volume controls work
built in microphone works
built in camera works
2 USB ports - work
Software update works (but I stay away from any OSX updates)
brightness control keys work
trackpad works
wifi - works with USB TP Link TL-WN725N dongle ( OSX 10.14 official driver )

  • what doesn't work ( yet) or has issues
Audio Issue :
Headphones input has sound but is distorted and doesn't work at all for headsets with built in microphone.

After unplugging headphone jack , Speaker audio is back but with a loud Coil wining noise while typing or playing youtube ...wasnt there before attempt to plug headphones at all ...Wierd ?

Usb C thunderbolt port : No hardware was found in System report shows

About This Mac shows different hardware configuration

this fixed my audio distortion:

you should not be using a sortedorder when using hotpatch files

for your memory module issue, you will need to remove:
