I spent some weeks on configuring the Dell Optiplex USFF machine making it work with Sierra. I had to look for the information at a lot of places and find the right combination and this site helped me much so i want to share my experience.
I know it is an old machine but very affordable and still has got enough power to run today whatever you need.

for 60 bucks i got the case with Mobo on Ebay
I had the CPU, Wifi Card and RAM on my shelf from the old PC where the Mobo went south.

HW:

Dell Optiplex 7010 USFF
Chipset Intel Q77
CPU: intel core i5 2500K
GPU: onboard only Intel HD3000
LAN: Onboard Intel 1000
Wifi: Broadcom (Fenvi FV8302)
RAM: 2x 8GB
Sound: Realtek ALC269

I recomend to use SSD SATA disk, allthough even mechanical disk is still possible

START

Update the BIOS as i had issues with older versions when powercycling the machine which seems to be solved by the update. Dell is still providing updates for the machine so check on their support website.

BIOS: (hit F2 to get to bios or F12 to get to one time boot menu)

Load defaults.
disable serial port
disable PXE Boot on the onboard NIC
enable UEFI boot mode
disable Virtualization support

Needed Kexts

In Clover folder:

FakeSMC.kext

You can create the USB drive with Multibeast.

The setup and first boot had to be started with clover options:
Code:
Drop All OEM SSDT
Generate Pstates
Generate Cstates

In /Library/Extensions

IntelMausiEthernet.kext (for the NIC, from RehabMan’s repository)
Lilu.kext (needed for the AppleALC)
AppleALC.kext (For making the audio work)

Utilities:
Clover
Clover Configurator
KextBeast
ssdtPRGEN.sh script

install the kext using KextBeast utility
mount the EFI folder using CLover Configurator and run the ssdtPRGEN.sh script
After that edit the Clover config as follows:

Clover configuration

Boot
Code:
verbose (disable when you finish)
kext-dev-mode=1
npci
ACPI
Code:
AdDTGP
FixIMEI
FixIntel
[B]
Devices[/B]
[code]
CPU Fakeid 0x1268086
IMEI 0x1C3A8086
Audio ID: 1
SMBIOS
Code:
MacMini5,1

Kernel and Kext Patches:
Code:
SNB-platform-id 10000300

Do not use WhateverGreen.kext !
I have spent so much time troubleshooting this just to find out that this kext makes the screen just not work.
All you need to make the HD3000 work on the 7 Series chipset are the Clover edits above.

What is working:

Sleep/Wake
Wifi (You can buy the external antena for better signal)
LAN
Audio
HDMI Audio
DP to HDMI
iMessages + Facetime (follow idiots guide to imessages but keep MacMini5,1 SMBIOS)

What is not working:

D-SUB video (VGA) output. It requires other patches which are not clear to me how to do so it is easier to use a DP to HDMI reduction for me. It makes pink screen and wokrs only if something is present in the DP port.

The Wifi card? Mini-pcie? how does the FV8302 fit into the USFF? Google is bringing up full card with external antennas
