I dug out my old, cheap earbuds and tested every compatible audio-id for ALC255. While they worked, as in audio did come out of the earbuds, they all had a hollow sound to them and sounded pretty bad. It could very well be that my crappy earbuds are just junk or my aging ears...

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

Keep in mind CodecCommander has special settings for ALC255...

Thanks! That helped!

Probably you should add to post #1.
And don't forget to use SSDT-AppleALC.aml (.dsl is in CodecCommander repo) as it is required when using CodeCommander + AppleALC together (otherwise you likely have broken audio after sleep/wake).

Updated post #1. Thanks.

I just updated to macOS Mojave 10.14.1 via System Preferences without any issues.

System restarted twice on its own and update took 16 minutes.

If you have HD4400 graphics, your CPU is one generation older than mine. You should get the appropriate config.plist from RehabMan's repository to start.

Here are the kexts that I use.

Yes, I've been using the 4400 plist from the repo but for some reason I cannot boot into Mojave with whatevergreen kext and other updated kexts. I have to revert DVMTFixup kext.

The method to apply correct RAM to IGPU has changed drastically recently. I recommend asking in one of the following threads on how to do this with the latest WhateverGreen.
