macOS Mojave beta installed but the HD 5500 is not working right yet. Fake ID for IntelGFX has to be set to 0x12345678 to boot.

Edit:
I figured out what I did wrong. I mistyped something in my config.plist. :banghead:

Now, everything seems to be working good except audio.

For those who wish to try the Mojave beta:
  1. Upgrade to the latest Clover
  2. Update all kexts in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/ to latest versions
  3. Add the following Custom Flags to Boot Arguments:
  • -lilubetaall
  • -igfxbeta
  • -alcbeta
  • shikibeta
*Note: Audio is broken for me in Mojave. I think that VoodooHDA might be the only solution for Mojave...

Updated to 10.13.6 via App Store without any problems.

Laptop will restart on its own twice. Update takes about 15 minutes. Just leave it alone and let it finish.

Update:
This update will break audio. To fix, change Audio-id from 3 to 13.

In anticipation of macOS Mojave, anyone who is using this laptop should do the following:

Remove the following kexts:
  • FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext
  • FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext
  • IntelGraphicsFixup.kext
  • IntelGraphicsDVMTFixup.kext
  • Shiki.kext

Update to the latest versions of:
  • AppleALC.kext (at least version 1.3.1)
  • Lilu.kext (at least version 1.2.6)
  • WhateverGreen.kext (at least version 1.2.1)
  • Clover bootlaoder with the following settings:

*Info on changes to UEFI Drivers can be found here.

Copy the Serial, Board Serial, and UUID from your config.plist and paste them to the config.plist attached below.

Thank's you for this awesome guide !
However I have two problems with my configuration (a latitude 3550 (same hardware than you))
- Audio jack is working but horrible sound.
- Netflix and iTunes movies don't working. Whatevergreen doesn't seems to correct this (while Shiki was working before).

PS: A better kext exist for this horrible trackpad. It's "enable" multitouch.

I only tested the audio jack for about 3 seconds to check that it was working. I'll have to check it out more later when I find my earbuds.

I don't know about Netflix and iTunes movies. I never tested this. I don't have a Netflix account. However, from other threads, I have seen users have success with Netflix using Chrome browser. You can try changing the Shiki flag in config.plist > Boot > Custom Flags.

Which kext have you found for the trackpad? I have adjusted to using the trackpad by enabling "Tap to Click" and "Enable Dragging". Enabling these two features have made the trackpad bearable.

Without flag Shiki do the job under High Sierra with my other hack. Maybe it's different with whatevergreen.
I found a kext developed for Elan Focaltech en Synaptics Touchpad. It's on another forum I can't post it her, but you can google that :
ELAN, FOCALTECH AND SYNAPTICS (SMART TOUCHPAD) DRIVER (MAC OS X)

It's old, but functional. It's simulate keyboard shortcut, many gesture are supported, and it's fully customizable. It's also a driver for keyboard, with many customization.

I dug out my old, cheap earbuds and tested every compatible audio-id for ALC255. While they worked, as in audio did come out of the earbuds, they all had a hollow sound to them and sounded pretty bad. It could very well be that my crappy earbuds are just junk or my aging ears...
