[Guide] Dell Inspiron 15 7567 (and similar) (Near-Full Functionality)

Hello. There's a way to get the NVIDIA GTX 1050 TI working ?

Same spec, same laptop execpt RAM. (Inspiron 7567 with i7-7700HQ, but mine is 8GB RAM)

Stuck at "Still waiting for root device.."
I've tried adding AHCIPortInjector.kext to EFI/CLOVER/Others but still not working.

I create install media via "createinstallmedia" method.

These is what I have been tried :

- Change USB Ports (Inspiron 7567 has only USB 3.0 ports)
- Change SATA Configuration mode to AHCI/RAID (Non of them works ..)
- Adding AHCIPortInjector.kext to EFI/CLOVER/Others
- Change "OsxAptioFixDrv.efi" to "OsxAptioFixDrv2.efi" while installing Clover EFI in installation USB.

Screenshot attached. Taken Before "Still waiting for root device" message shows.

Did you try adding SATA-100-series-unsupported.kext? Adding this solved this problem for me when I was using my Inspiron 15 7559

Hopefully that will help!

Thank you for reply :)

I've copied all of your Clover USB file\kexts (in your attachment) to EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Others (in installation media)
Your attachment includes "SATA-100-seires-unsupported.kext".

So I could tell I have been tried adding SATA-100-series-unsupported.kext.

This is my laptop's SATA AHCI Controller information.
Also attached my DSDT/SSDT extracted by AIDA64.

Maybe It can help to resolve issue.

Intel Sunrise Point PCH - SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile) [D-1]
PCI Bus 0 / Devuce 23 / Funtion 0
Device ID : 8086-A103
Subsystem ID : 1028-0798
Device Class : 0106 (SATA Controller)
Revision : 31

Hmm...do you have your SATA controller set to AHCI instead of RAID in the BIOS?

I've tried AHCI mode and RAID On mode too. None of them works.
Changing Clover EFI version dosen't helped either.

"Still waiting for root device" when booting the installer from USB indicates a USB problem.
Make sure you use a USB2 stick and try all USB ports.

Problem fixed. USB 3.0 was the problem.
All of my USB 3.0 drives never worked.

I don't have any 2.0 drives so I used internal card reader and booted successfully.

Thank you.

"Once you have your Clover configuration all setup, reboot the laptop and boot with “-f” (no caches) to be able to rebuild the system kext caches."

Could someone please explain this to me? I don't understand how to do It. I looked under boot options and didn't see how to do this. Thanks
