[Guide] Dell Inspiron 15 7559 (skylake)

If able you're able to can you walk me through this? I got my edid from Linux but I do not have a display_info.txt. I cannot get the python file to open properly from Windows or mac. Can you help me convert my 4k edid? Is there a guide anywhere? Thank you so very much!!

I would really appreciate some assistance converting my EDID for my 4k 7559. OC and big sur work wonderfully on my i5 1080p 7559. On my 4k one however I get hdmi display only no internal display.
My edid is this
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3840 x 2160, maximum 16384 x 16384
eDP-1 connected primary 3840x2160+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 344mm x 194mm
EDID:

I am having a terrible time converting it, I know it is asking a lot thank you guys you have all been so helpful!!!
Run the xrandr --props
Copy EDID value
Create a text file on desktop named "display_info.txt"
Paste the edid like shown in figure (adding the text 'EDID:' before the numbers in the txt file)
Copy the python file to desktop
Run it (as shown in terminal)

Try this:
(based on your output)

Also if you get it working do share the EFI if you don't mind,

Did you get to boot Big Sur?

Finally got Big Sur to run on my Dell 7559. The patched EDID method worked. It allows me to upgrade or Clean install to Big Sur!. Everything works as normal. Thanks so much @Heisenberg68 for bringing this to my attention. Who would have known. Ive run High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina on this laptop and have never needed my EDID patched. Big Sur will not boot without it being patched. My EFI is attached if it'll help anyone else.

Yes. I have Mojave, catalina and Big Sur on this laptop. All work normal. Even with the patched EDID, Catalina and Mojave still boot normal

Last thing I just want to say thank you to everyone!!! The edid that worked for me was one I finally made thanks to

Heisenberg68's guide.

I do think they are unique to every dell 7559 4k screen.

if anyone wants to try it
Last issue I have, Is there an easy way to fix the brightness key in Big sur for my 4k 7559? I do have a patched SSDT-PNLF but Its from a 4k poster here. How do I make one for my exact laptop. Because when I boot the screen is off because the backlight needs to be at 100%. Can I force it to max somehow?
If its below like 100% the screen is off which happens on boot and I can only fix it using voice over. Thanks so much guys!!!!

Thats good. Can you check if you are able to get 60Hz refresh rate or 48 Hz?
