While we are on the subject of battery, although i do not have 7559,
I do have an alienware with the exact same specs as the 7559, with i7-6700hq, and HD530 + gtx 970m (4k panel)

The issue im having is, when i shut down the computer, I am not able to boot back up unless i connect to the external adapter. So without AC power the laptop doesn't turn on.
Also, when i connect the adapter after shut down, the computer starts back up directly without pressing the power button.
Does somebody know of a solution? Has someone encountered such an issue before?
Kindly let me know.

Thanks & Regards,
Chicken
Have look at the link for your shutdown restart issues. I would need some more info though for the power adapter issue. Send me of copy of your IO output please.

Firstly, Thanks for the reply.

What's the current best starting point for Dell 7559: 4K, i7-6700HQ to get ANY macOS version running ?

I can't seem to even boot the installer properly (High Sierra, Catalina, Big Sur), trying BIOS 1.2.2 , 1.2.4 , 1.3.1 and others.

Thanks for any pointers.

I wish it was that simple. I've followed it to the letter, using the 0.6.4 OC files, including the DEBUG version. It never gets to running the kernel after it loads it from BaseImage.dmg with 1.2.9 BIOS.

The 70 page thread is full of random caveats regarding BIOS versions and using UEFI or Legacy mode, dozens of EFI.zip files. None of it works for me for some reason - I must be overlooking something basic or my computer is haunted.

Currently, I'm using your EFI with a GenSMBIOS generated serial, putting BaseSystem.* files into com.apple.recovery.boot and UEFI mode selected in BIOS (1.2.9) and trying to boot the installer that way. I'll get another USB stick to see if maybe that's the problem somehow.

I am using Big Sur 11.1 with bios 1.3.1 and open core 0.6.4 with UEFI booting.
have used slipanot EFI with little modification, remove edid patch and add -igfxmpc in boot argument and latest version of WG kext. for combo jack to work add alcdelay=1000 and alcverbs=1 to boot argument.
To working headphones Jack I'm using alc-verb fix, and it working on Big Sur and Catalina:

1. copy alc-verb and alc-verb_jack_fix to /usr/local/bin
2. run alc-verb_jack_fix
3. check that this fix has been applied
View attachment 499314
4. Plug the headphone, it should work.
5. Add this fix to login items
View attachment 499316

At this time I still have this issues on Big Sur with OpenCore:

1. Do not work brightness keys
2. Do not work sleep (instant awake issue)
3. Probably dGPU Nvidia still enable (this is my guess as the GPU cooler always stays hot while in Catalina + Clover it was cold)
4. 4k 60Hz, DRM, SideCar not working. (It is currently not possible to get it to work, as in Lilu user-space patching has severely broke on Big Sur)

If anyone knows how to do 1-3 hacks, I would appreciate it.

Have look at the link for your shutdown restart issues. I would need some more info though for the power adapter issue. Send me of copy of your IO output please.

Firstly, Thanks for the reply.

1. My DSDT doesn't have any devices listed under _PRW, so cant create FixShutdown-USB-SSDT
kindly check attached dsdt.dsl
