Thanks for this @tumchi. I've been trying to decide on a laptop to buy and I see a sale coming up on this model.

a) are you using it regularly? Are you happy with performance?
b) Have you made any progress on the trackpad? Have you identified which make of trackpad Dell us using?

This Laptop uses the ALPS trackpad controller

Google
-a-new-voodoops2controller-compatible-for-alps-on-sierrael-capitan-1011410115/
and use the version released for August 25th

keep in mind you wont get multitouch only basic mouse movements.

Performance wise, this El Capitan works great.. I've not transitioned to this machine yet. Planning to install Sierra before making this a daily driver

Hey. Thanks for your guide so far.

I've followed your steps (with the addition of a BIOS update to fix boot errors) and gotten up and running on Sierra, barring the camera and some little things like power button/lid not putting the laptop to sleep. Have I missed something in your guide or are you seeing the same?
I'm waiting on a wifi card to replace the Intel one, which should give full Wifi + Bluetooth support.

I've noticed some display artefacts and glitching on the top left corner when certain apps are open or when things are loading. Are you having the same issues, or found a fix for the Intel 520?

My specs are similar to yours I believe (Inspiron 13 7359):
- Core i5 6200U (2.4Ghz)
- Intel HD 520 Graphics
- 8GB RAM
- 256GB SSD

Specs:
Skylake i7 - 6500U
Intel HD 520 inthgrated Graphics
13.3' Full HD display with Webcam

Do I need to download a fresh copy of windows 10 and lose all my data? :(

An update on the graphics glitching for anyone else following this thread.

I've noticed some display artefacts and glitching on the top left corner when certain apps are open or when things are loading. Are you having the same issues, or found a fix for the Intel 520?

This was solved pretty simply by following https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/fix-skylake-menu-bar-glitch-fix.206400/
Adding Sherlocks injection & fix into clover.plist did the trick!

Edit: HDMI video appears to be working correctly, even connecting up to my 4k monitor works! :)

I managed to get the camera working, I added USBInjectAll.kext which appears to have connected the camera and touchscreen up.

The only puzzle left to solve (while I wait for an NGFF BCM94352Z WiFi card to arrive) is why the power + lid is not putting the laptop to sleep correctly. If I shut the lid the screen stays on (even after a minute or so), same goes if I press the power button. Manually putting the laptop to sleep & wake works correctly. Any ideas?

Hey @xarento did you get the trackpad working as per @liteon6x post above?
If so, do you have two-finger scrolling?
