Just noticed that. I don’t run Windows but I do know it’s the chip mentioned on the title of this post as I have the same laptop in the guide. It’s the alc225. I’ll keep in it but I may just live with the poor voodoo audio just for now and use Linux since I only need this for Xcode.

I still think these guides could use an update.

Been spending time trying to learn patching DSDTs and I get a little further each time. I’m not fully sure it fixes audio though since that’s all that fails to work m as it seems just about everybody on the forums runs into with this chip sadly.

I was obviously talking to XxTrippyNinjaxX

Your laptop is different and it's using different hardware, particularly different audio chip (most likely).
You should check your audio device ID (in Windows or with DPCIManager) and google instructions for that specific audio chip

What Audio device ID DPCIManager shows?

The audio line says:

Vendor: 8086
Device: 9D71
SubVen: 1028
SubDev: 0740

Found in the log:

17:237 0:028 Audio HDA (addr:0x1F0003) setting specified layout-id=3 (0x3)

I have a patch in my config.plist to set layout 3.

I’ll take a look and post tonight.

People here had same error, caused by redundant FakeSMC.kext. Is that not your case?
I'm using the same Clover folder you posted earlier in the forum and it worked fine. But now its decided to give me a CPU fault it looks like.

Just checking in to see if anyone has clues to getting an ALC225 working on a dell 5378 laptop.
