Status
Not open for further replies.
Hey guys,

I'm just tried to make my Dell 15 5577 works with 10.13.2, and with so many help from this forum and direct help from RehabMan, I finally succeed. So I wrote this in suppose that this may help others.

1. Hardware

  • Mother board: HM175
  • CPU: i5-7300HQ
  • GPU: HD630 + GTX1050
  • Wireless and Bluetooth: BCM94352Z (I replaced the in-built one)
  • Audio Card: ALC256 (branded as ALC3234)
  • Ethernet: RTL8111
2. What's Working
  • Native power management
  • Intel GPU
  • Audio
  • TrackPad
  • Wi-Fi
  • Blutooth
  • Ethernet
  • HDMI video
  • USB
  • Built-in camera
  • Built-in mic
3. What's Not Working
  • Card reader
  • Backlight control (I just didn't solve this problem)
  • HDMI audio (not tested)
  • Fn not very clear (maybe caused by Karabiner?)
4. General Setup
There are already many information in this forum, so I decide not to repeat them here.

For basic setup, you can get help here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ierra-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.235474/
Notice:
Because this is a dual-GPU laptop, you need to do things described here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...nds-with-dual-gpu.233092/page-20#post-1658838

5. Post-install
Keyboard, USB, built-in camera and Ethernet are working once I use the multiBeast to

- APFS
If you use APFS as your file system, don't forget to add the apfs.efi to /EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI.

- Intel HD630
You need to set the DVMT-prealloca to 64MB, I modified the BIOS, of course there are ways handling this problem.
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

- Native Power Management
I just followed the instructions here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-native-power-management-for-laptops.175801/

- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
BCM94352Z is really easy to handle, and the instructions are here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html

- Audio
The monther board is series 100, so we need to change HDAS to HDEF in config.plist.
The ALC256 is not supported by AppleADC, so used AppleALC to solve the problem, CodecCommand is needed also.

And the files are here in attachment.

- Apple Verification
Apple will check your hardware information when providing you services, like iMessage.
This is easy to solve if you don't hurry to login AppStore or use iMessage before handle the SMBIOS.
The instructions here is helpful:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/an-idiots-guide-to-imessage.196827/

And this process is really painful.

Last but not the least, thanks again, for the gorgeous works by the masters.

Sir can you please explain how to enable audio??? I have tried a lot but cant fix the audio issue .
