Guys Im totally confused in Post #1. I don't know which one should I make? Please help me and which part should I make in Post #1?

These are my Wi-Fi - BT;

TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Vendor ID: 168C Device ID :0030
GMYLE ---> with Dark-Void BrcmPatchRAM.kext I increased my firmware v14 c4096 to v14 c5555.

System: Yosemite 10.10.1 with Clover 3065

While doing some research for BrcmPatchRAM I came across a list of PCIe / NGFF devices.

Knowing that more people now are looking for compatible PCIe / Mini-PCIe / NGFF devices for OS X, here is what I found:

All known current NGFF wifi devices can be found using a wikidev query:
http://goo.gl/sQUHc5

PCIe / Mini PCIe Broadcom devices based on BCM4360 (Compatible with OS X):
http://goo.gl/EgQ0wm

Mini PCIe (half) Broadcom devices based on BCM43224 (Compatible with OS X):
http://goo.gl/pIzeUh

Mini PCIe (half) Broadcom devices based on BCM943225 (Compatible with OS X):
http://goo.gl/BeynyJ

PCIe / Mini PCIe / Mini PCIe (half) / NGFF Broadcom devices based on BCM4352 (Compatible with OS X):
http://goo.gl/UA3dVM

3 Broadcom WiFi chips are present in NGFF devices only:

  • BCM4352 [14e4:43b1] (Supported through Toleda's efforts, 2x2:2 867Mbps)
  • BCM4356 [14e4:43ec] (Unknown, very new chip, 2014-Nov, abgn+ac, 2x2:2 - 867Mbps)
  • BCM43162 (Unknown, very new chip 2014-Feb, abgn+ac, 1x1:1 - 433Mbps)
Regarding Wifi & Bluetooth Combo the following devices are at least known:

BCM94352Z

  • [0930:0223] 20702A1 Toshiba 4352 NGFF
  • [0489:e07a] Lenovo China 4352+20702 NGFF
  • [0a5c:216b] HP Rapture 4352z ngff combo

BCM943162ZP

  • [0930:0229] 43162 combo NGFF
  • [0a5c:216e] HP Blackbird 43162 NGFF
  • [0489:e079] Lenovo China 43162 NGFF

Unknown (BCM43142, Unknown support)

  • [13d3:3427] Toshiba 43142 combo NGFF
  • [0930:0225] Toshiba 43142 combo NGFF
  • [0930:0226] Toshiba 43142 combo NGFF
  • [0a5c:2167] BRCM Generic 43142Y (NGFF)
  • [0a5c:216d] HP Hornet 43142Y NGFF Combo
  • [185f:2167] LenovoChina_BCM43142A0_1.1.11.197_NGFF

Unknown (BCM43228, not supported in OS X)

  • [04ca:200e] Liteon 43228 NGFF Combo
  • [0489:e087] Acer 43228 NGFF Combo module

Note that the vendor / device id's are for Bluetooth. I am not sure of the corresponding ID's for the associated WiFi devices.

skvo,

That is a useful excel sheet.

Maybe its interesting to link to the lists of available devices for each of the chips that are supported?

That will allow people to find actual products using the supported chips.

Also did anyone spot any places to buy devices based on BCM94356Z or BCM943162ZP?
Because once those hit the market, it should potentially make OS X WiFi/BT support for NGFF supporting devices much easier.

Hey Guys

i have a dualboot with Clover on my notebook with Windows 8.1 and Yosemite
Now I want a Native Wifi card (do not want to mess with editing so much :D)
Should support both Windows 8.1 and Yosemite of course

This is what i have till now:
http://ark.intel.com/de/products/75439/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-7260

Intel Wireless-AC 7260
Mainboard-Format: PCIe Half Mini Card/ M.2 (NGFF)
Bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz
Networks: 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n

I want approximately the same now but with Yosemite native support.
Which one should i buy
i dont need Bluetooth on it but i want to have fast 802.11 AC
because thats what my main connection is
The Price is not so important as long as it is very good and has native support

Only 1 option for NGFF laptops:
BCM94356Z Combo NGFF

Both WiFi and Bluetooth will work (wifi requires device-id change in DSDT, bluetooth requires firmware upload).

However getting it at the moment seems quite difficult, out of stock everywhere.
Currently no matches on ebay or Amazon.

I bought mine a few months ago for about $65. From what I heard prices are ranging from $60 to $100.

BCM94356Z / BCM943162ZP might also work, but no-one has these yet for testing.

Masi51952,

OS X does not support any Intel WiFi cards whatsoever. So if you have a laptop with the every common Intel AC-7260 NGFF WiFi you will need to replace it with a Broadcom WiFi for use in OS X.

no i did not mean to Use the intel one on my Mac
I just wanted to Show that The other Card (Intel 6230 with no NGFF in The description) worked on my mainboard in Windows And was not NGFF

So i search for

802.11 ac
Dualband (2,4 And 5 GHz)
Mac (native) And Windows compatibility
it can but dont need to have Bluetooth
probably also without NGFF

Your motherboard is either M.2 NGFF (different NGFF sizes exist) or PCIe half-mini.

It cannot be both at the same time. So make sure you know exactly what your motherboard needs before you make a purchase.
