Yes, with the original screen it worked fine, no major complains there. After screen replacement the issues began.

Very strange
And your 4530s is showing "incompatible display" everytime you boot?

Re: [Guide] 4530s Display Upgrade to 1080p

No, it says "Unknown Main Board" o_O

LOL.

Very, very strange. I don´t get why the 4730 cable from HP isn´t working in your ProBook. Sure that the cable isn´t damaged or has bad contact? Maybe there is also a problem with the Alinc cable? Is it just a compatible one? Maybe not 100% pin compatible? Did you try to replace the new screen with the old one and test all cables with it?

Re: [Guide] 4530s Display Upgrade to 1080p

Yes, I did, the 4750 cable was no go. The 4530s cable with HD+ works with both screens.
Super weird, Windows runs awesomely, but OSX can't boot to save it's live.

I didn't buy it to run Windows, though.
I might buy a 1600x900 screen and see how it goes.

Tried a hard reset of BIOS? (remove AC adapter, remove battery, press Power for ~30sec)

Did you definitely buy the right cable? Part no 646274-001 (Service manual: For use in 4730s models with HD+ displays 646274-001) directly from HP Partsurfer? If so, I would try to claim for warranty, so that HP sends you a new one. Don´t think they will test the cable function. Cable will cost them aprox < 50 Cents.

I think the 1600x900 screen will make no big difference to the orginal screen and isn´t worth the money. But it´s your decision.

[email protected]" = 100ppi

iphone 4/4s = 326ppi
ppi = pixels per inch :)

EDIT: Saw that you are already close to get it working :)

Re: [Guide] 4530s Display Upgrade to 1080p

Everyone is saying it won't work on mine because it's a newer 4530s i3 A7K05UT. Does anyone have this model working? In theory it should work with the right cable. Can someone please help with this, I'm so ready to ditch this terrible screen..

Re: [Guide] 4530s Display Upgrade to 1080p (Update: 2012-06-03)

if you wanna add information, my DSDT has the Dual link patch for 1080p.
It's a custom made DSDT only for i5 2410m (i have none SSDT, all is in DSDT).

I didn't changed that since it's good for me.
