[Guide] 10.11+ USB changes and solutions

I'm using Stork's Gene VIII Maximus build. I'm on 10.11 but was going to 10.12. Was going to clone as backup, but when I hooked in my 1TB external drive, the drive didn't show up unlike other smaller usb drives. I downloaded the patch and made the edit in Clover. Ever since, I cannot boot and in verbose mode upon boot get the following: "IOBluetoothFamily...Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport". Your help is much appreciated. Thank you!

You probably corrupted your config.plist. Never use a text editor to edit your config.plist.

Restore from backup config.plist and edit the plist with proper tools (Xcode or PlistEdit Pro).
 
I actually used clover to make the change... how do I restore the backup if I can't reboot...? Thanks!
 
Clover configurator I meant.

o idea. Your issue may be device specific. Try the same devices in a real Mac running the same version of OS X.

You might want to try without injecting port-count.

Hey RehabMan and others dealing with El Cap USB 3.0 power issues
I seem to have resolved the USB 3.0 power issue with the usbhubpowerfix located here:
https://github.com/mkhon/USBHubPowerFix

Can now mount more than one 3.0 device that requires power.

Could you please explain or direct me to an explanation of making a custom SSDT? I've been paying paying attention (really) but I must have missed that. I don't know where to start.
