Hi all,

I'm struggling a few days with the following problem:

When I play a video (HD/4k h264) with Quicktime or Finder, it stutters heavily. Even editing with FCPX is very laggy.

The error message I get in the Console:
GVA error: AGPMGetManagedPortForAccelerator returned 0x4 for VP4
GVA error: Failed to find IGPU IOService plane.
GVA error: AVD_api.Create failed (err=11, displayID=459126275, mask1=31, mask2=31, mask3=8)
GVA error: Flow_QT0::physicalAcceleratorDispose, m_physical_accel_created == false

I'm on Sierra (10.12.4) using Clover with SMBIOS iMac 14,2. (tried also 12,2 because I used this with Yosemite)
I've edited AppleGraphicsPowerManagement to fit my GTX770, but it won't help. (Did on Yosemite)
Playing the same video on my MacbookPro (late 2015) is very smooth.

I'm totally lost and don't know how to solve this problem and hoping someone can put me in the right direction.

Thanks.

The error references the IGPU. I'm guessing it is an issue with Intel QuickSync not working.

Thanks for your reply!

I have disabled the IGPU in BIOS so QuickSync shouldn't work.
For now, I've switched to SMBIOS MacPro 6,1 and the error message is gone.
But still no acceleration for video.

When running mpv from the commandline, I got this output:
[cplayer] Setting option 'hwdec' = 'videotoolbox' (flags = 4)
[vo/opengl] Loading hwdec driver 'videotoolbox'
[vd] Probing 'videotoolbox'...
[vd] Pixel formats supported by decoder: vda_vld vda videotoolbox_vld yuvj420p
[vd] failed to init videotoolbox decoder: Hardware doesn't support accelerated decoding for this stream or Videotoolbox decoder is not available at the moment (another application is using it). (-78)

And when playing, VTDecoderXPCService is using CPU for more than 200%
On my MacbookPro, this is around 3-8% for the same video.

I've installed latest Nvidia Webdrivers, latest CUDA but nothing seems to work
