Hey guys,

just switched to a new system. Old one was a Z97X-UD5H-BK, now I got a Z170X-Gaming 5, new CPU and DDR4.

Installation worked great so far, just didn't get the Samsung 950 Pro to work. But the big problem is my graphic card. I use a MSI GeForce GTX 980 TI, worked great in my old setup. So I build it into my new system and boooom, problems.

In my "About this Mac" info I got this:

OS X El Capitan
Version 10.11.6 (15G1004)

iMac 27-inch, Late 2013
Prozessor 4,01 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 6GB 2133 MHz DDR4
Startup Disc El Capitan
Graphics MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 0 MB

Problem so far: I can only use HDMI at very poor resolution, no displayport. The card has zero MB VRAM. And every time I try to switch from the default OS X drivers to the nvidia web drivers and reboot it is back on the default OS X drivers. Display recognization is wrong too.

I'm using the Nvidia web driver 346.03.15f03, newest version.

And: the card gets very hot!

Any ideas?

So

<key>NVidia</key>
<false/>

right?

Yes.
How are you editing your config.plist ?
Using a text editor can corrupt the formatting and a corrupt config.plist is the same as no config.plist at all.

I edited it with textedit as recommended. Changed nvidia to false, but no change, still same problem.
Perhaps it is corrupt then and not being used.
Attach it.

Another possibility is that the config.plist that you are editing is not the one that is actually being used.

Your pictures in Post #1 show that you selected a MacPro3,1 system definition in MultiBeast and yet your 'About this Mac' shows an iMac14,2 - Something is not right.

This is sooo frustrating...

I started from scratch:

Create bootable USB stick with El Capitan
Installation as recommended, no problems
Post-Installation with Multibeast 8.2.3, no problems
UEFI Mount partition, added the nvidia stuff, saved
Installed OS X update for 10.11.6 to install latest Nvidia WebDrivers
Restart
Choosing Webdrivers - Restart - still OS X Drivers are being used

Attached everything, would be so so happy if someone could help!!

You need to add nvda_drv=1 to your boot args. This forces nVidia Web driver.
I my self are having problems with my 980 ti on a x79 platform. No problem at all on Z87.

cheers
