I was thinking about maybe upgrading my graphics card from my 660 to a 970. I am running a dual boot on my system. One hard drive has Mt. Lion 10.8.5, and the other one is windows 8.1 (for gaming). Will I run into an major problems when trying to make the 970 run on Mt. Lion? My boot loader is chimera.

Thanks
- Jesse

Pretty sure you have to be running Yosemite to have the NVIDIA drivers that support Maxwell cards.

Yes, you have to be running Yosemite for the Maxwell cards to work, and you'll have to use the nVidia Web drivers. Apple has not updated the graphics cards drivers in OS X since 10.8.5 according to MacVidCards. So, if you plan to stay on 10.8.5, you should pick up a used nVidia GTX 670, 680, 760, 770 or 780, all of which are supported natively in 10.8.5...or keep using your 660.
