My i7 Hackintosh

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI (Using BIOS version F4)(latest)

CPU: Intel i& 6700k

HDD: 256GB Samsung SSD 850 Pro

RAM: 32GB 2x16GB 2133 DDR4

Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 950

OS: El Capitan 10.11.5

Followed Guide:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-el-capitan-on-the-skylake-h170n-wifi.178197/

  1. Was able to install OS, update post-install settings to what was recommended

Graphics Issue:

  1. After installing recommended web drivers, boot hangs and stops video signal to monitor

  2. only way to boot after that is by using nv_disable=1
RAM Issue:

  1. Installed 32GB RAM which is recognized by the motherboard (2 slots)

  2. System thinks there are 4 slots with only 2) 8GB chips

  3. So only 16GB seen

  4. Updated the SMIBIOS in config.plist with 4 8GB entries and set to dual channel (larger entries were not available in select box)

  5. Entries are unrecognized and they disappear from config.plist
Nothing I find seems to fix the issue. I've added various boot flags and the result is always the same.

Also followed this guide:
-->https://www.******.com/r/hackintosh/comments/3v51z3/evga_gtx_950_issues_under_el_cap/
and followed this:
-->Disable onboard graphics. Boot with PCIRootUID=1 nvda_drv=1
Which didn't fix anything.

I assume you are using iMac17,1?

Did you try using, nvda_drv=1 only and not the PCIrootID?

It's only cosmetic as the OS uses the memory. See the Clover Wiki for the sol'n. Clover Wiki
